“Miss is one of the people in the world who has absolutely no worries about her appearance,” Dion said matter-of-factly.
No woman dislikes being complimented on her appearance, and Mary was no exception.
“You’re cute too, Dion,” Mary said with a smile.
Dion said seriously, "But before that, I am first and foremost your attendant, Miss. Even if it is for the purpose of deterring those with ill intentions, I must maintain a masculine demeanor in public."
The car sped forward, leaving trees and houses flying past one after another, leaving them behind.
A bus stop appeared at the end of the line of sight.
A boy wearing the same school uniform threw the shriveled paper cup into the trash can, wiped his hands with a tissue, and then leaned against the billboard, seemingly waiting for the bus.
Mary focused her attention, and as the distance closed, she could vaguely make out the other person's face.
Looks familiar.
“He might be late, let’s give him a ride to school,” Mary said.
Since the young lady gave the order, the driver naturally had to comply.
The car gradually slowed down and came to a precise stop next to the bus stop.
The woman in the passenger seat rolled down her window: "Please get in."
...Dion?
Mochizuki Oboro swallowed back the words that were about to come out.
So, the characters BB created in the simulation game were based on real people?
"Have we met somewhere before?" Mochizuki asked.
Dion smiled slightly: "The opening ceremony is about to begin. You'll be late if you keep waiting for the bus, okay?"
We're from the same school.
Mochizuki Oboro nodded his thanks and opened the back door of the car.
"Good morning," Mary waved gently.
“…” Mochizuki Oboro paused for half a second, “I am extremely grateful.”
The car has a two-seat design in the back, which can just accommodate one more person.
With a muffled thud, the car door slammed shut again.
"I am Marie Antoinette, a second-year student, and I will be the student council president starting today. Nice to meet you."
"I am Dion. The executive chairman of the student council."
The name hasn't changed at all, has it? BB's slacking off is going way too far!
"Looking at the moon. Also a second-year student, a complete novice."
Mary cast a straightforward glance at Mochizuki Oboro, making no attempt to hide her expression.
Personally speaking, Mochizuki Oboro doesn't dislike this open and honest gaze.
"There's a strange sense of familiarity," Mary pondered. "Have we met before?"
"Perhaps it's like that in some parallel world," Mochizuki Oboro said seriously.
[Special Note from BB Parents~]
That familiar voice rang in my mind again.
When the senior player engages in a simulation game with target A as the primary objective, only A retains complete memories of the experience in the form of dreams. Other characters, regardless of their level of involvement, only retain inexplicable intuitions.
Dion couldn't help but chuckle: "Parallel world, it seems Mochizuki-kun is quite an interesting person."
"Did Mochizuki-kun not plan your time well? Waiting at the bus stop now could easily make you late." Mary shifted the topic to Mochizuki Oboro.
"Simply put, he overslept." Mochizuki Oboro looked at Mary: "But it's not common for the president to be in a private car at this time."
“Me too, Dion.” Mary touched her lower lip and sighed, “But it’s really strange today, everyone overslept. It’s a strange coincidence, isn’t it?”
……
Although the initial developments were somewhat unexpected, Mochizuki Oboro at least didn't arrive late, arriving at the venue five minutes before the ceremony was to begin.
"Hey—over here—"
Charlemagne jumped up to signal: "Don't rush to meet the deadline on the first day of school!"
The surrounding crowd cast their gazes at Charlemagne and Mochizuki Oboro, but one was a lively and cheerful person, and the other was an intermittent eccentric who was often immersed in his own art, so they no longer paid any attention to the stares.
Mandicardo sighed: "Have you lost your way at another crossroads in your life?"
“No, I just overslept,” Mochizuki Oboro replied.
Karna stroked his chin: "Then you stayed up all night last night."
The patients in dormitory 514 gathered together.
"Please be quiet," Dr. Roman's voice came over the loudspeaker. "Next, please welcome the principal to speak."
Applause broke out as usual.
A man with a protruding belly walked onto the stage, trying his best to appear more dignified, and stood at the front of the podium.
Good morning. I am your principal, Goldruff.
The principal cleared his throat: "Today is April 7th, the first day of school. I hope everyone will have a meaningful year ahead."
Despite looking like a middle-aged man, Goldruff is actually under thirty years old and serves as the principal of the high school at Finis Academy.
Goldruff's academic philosophy was quite enlightened, and the flourishing state of Finis Academy was inseparable from his efforts.
In other words, Goldruff is the kind of person who can't be judged by his appearance. He's also a good person in everyday interactions.
His speech was simple and easy to understand, without fancy rhetoric or unrealistic talk, and the teachers and students in the audience could understand it without having to think.
"That's all I have to say. Now, please welcome the new student council president, Marie Antoinette, to give her speech."
Goldruff left the podium with a brisk walk, and whether it was just his imagination or not, Mochizuki Oboro felt that he breathed a huge sigh of relief as he turned around.
President Mary walked gracefully to the front of the stage, a captivating smile on her lips.
"Hello everyone. I am the new student council president. I look forward to your guidance in the coming year."
Mandecardo tilted his head and said to Mochizuki Oboro, "It seems like the president is looking at you."
Charlemagne simply elbowed him, saying, "It seems you all entered at the same time, right? I thought it was just a coincidence back then."
"I was almost late, I just hitched a ride with the president, that's all." Mochizuki Oboro clicked her tongue and said, "Why don't you guys learn from Karna and stop overthinking things?"
Karna was typing furiously: "No, I just didn't notice the president's expression, otherwise I would have joined in too."
He arranged to play basketball with Arjuna in the afternoon.
Charlemagne laughed heartily: "See? Karna has always been the most honest one."
Chapter 17 The Wild Boar Princess
The opening ceremony is over.
Thanks to its scientific and reasonable design, the venue has three exits, which can effectively disperse the flow of people and avoid crowding and trampling.
"I've already cleaned the dorm, you can go back now." Karna put away his phone. "Ma Si suddenly called me to move some things, so I'll go ahead."
Charlemagne also made a gesture: "I also have some things to take care of at the football club. After all, it's the president's responsibility and I can't refuse. See you at the dorm later."
Mochizuki Oboro looked at Mandecardo: "You also have things to deal with?"
“That’s right,” Mandicardo scratched his head. “Lanling Wang said he was going to set up some kind of service department, and he was short one person, so he asked me to go and be a ghost member.”
The good boys of dormitory 514 scattered and went away.
Before returning to her dormitory, Mochizuki Oboro planned to go to the storage point on the south side of the campus to retrieve her package.
If all goes well, Mochizuki Oboro will finish dealing with the delivery within ten minutes and then return to her dorm to kill time.
But it's impossible without unexpected circumstances.
Suddenly, the blonde girl in front of Mochizuki Oboro staggered and fell to the ground, blocking the only way.
Someone is on the ground, and we can't just leave them there, can we?
Wang Yuelong squatted down, intending to help Jin Liu, the girl, up, but she was limp and unable to stand up.
Wait, this face looks so familiar.
"Are you Artoria?" Mochizuki Oboro was still somewhat doubtful.
Within Academy City, there is practically no one who doesn't know the superstar Artoria.
But Artoria is a senior who graduated a long time ago, so why is she at Phineas Academy on the first day of school?
"That's... my sister, I'm so hungry..." The girl used her last bit of strength to grab Mochizuki Oboro's collar: "Food..."
After saying this, the girl closed her eyes, half of her tongue hanging out, her neck went limp, and she passed away peacefully.
There were no formal classes on the first day of school at Finis Academy, so the cafeteria was also closed that day. Mochizuki Oboro had no choice but to take the unconscious girl to the nearby restaurant street.
Ramen shops, burger joints, and all sorts of restaurants and snacks—this is the food street near Finis Academy.
……
"Cheng Hui 270QP".
Mochizuki Oboro's already meager balance suffered another heavy blow.
Eighteen bowls of ramen – this is the new record set by the young girl.
He even said that this was far from when he was full.
"I'm Caster, a first-year student who just transferred here today," the girl said, scratching her face sheepishly. "I skipped breakfast because I was almost late today, and I never expected to faint like this."
"Do you have low blood sugar?" Mochizuki asked. "You should be careful next time."
Castor looked away. "No. Just plain hungry."
The world is full of wonders. It's quite unexpected that a hero who can devour eighteen bowls of ramen in one go would utter such a statement.
"Judging from the uniform, you must be a second-year student?" Caster took out his phone. "This is our first meeting. I can't let you spend so much money. I'll transfer the money to you."
Before long, a small red dot appeared on Wangyuelong's social media app; it was a friend request from Caster.
The transfer was completed in one smooth motion.
While doing so, Mochizuki Oboro opened her account backend to check her balance.
QP: 1779.
If you eat in the school cafeteria with subsidies, you should be able to survive for three months.
It seems Mandicardo has already found me a part-time job recommendation; I should probably think about how to kill some time.
Have it.
Mochizuki looked at Caster: "Would you like me to show you around the campus? I don't have anything else to do anyway."
"Eh? Is that okay?"
"If you offer me payment, I won't refuse."
"Then I'll have to trouble you, senior!" Caster suddenly stood up and bowed very respectfully.
"It's just an introduction to the campus, there's no need for such a big reaction."
Looking at Mochizuki Oboro's somewhat strange expression, Caster realized one thing: he had embarrassed himself again.
"I'm sorry! I'm a transfer student from the countryside, and I'm not very familiar with city social etiquette!"
Castor's eyes transformed into endlessly spinning mosquito coils.
Her older sister, Artoria, is a big star, while she's just a clueless country bumpkin. Was coming to Chaldea high school a mistake after all?
Haha, it seems country folk should just stay in the countryside and grow potatoes...
"Don't panic, just stay calm and don't overthink it."
After some encouragement, Caster emerged from his self-doubt and barely returned to normal, following behind Mochizuki Oboro as he stepped half a step into the academy.
