The man was pushing up his glasses with a hand adorned with metal cat paws, his gaze behind the lenses as cold as ice.
"A small boat?... Since we met at sea, that's your misfortune! I will never allow anyone to leave alive after seeing my true face!"
When the two ships come together.
Kuina leaped onto the enemy's pirate ship.
Kro's figure suddenly became blurry.
He moved across the deck with an eerie gait, so fast that he left afterimages. Most unsettlingly, he swung his cat claws indiscriminately, tearing several pirates in his path to shreds in an instant.
"Indiscriminate attack?" Kuina gripped the hilt of her sword, her eyes sharpening.
Kro adjusted his glasses, and his figure disappeared again.
The next second, ten cold lights attacked from different directions, aiming straight for Kuina's vitals.
This time she finally saw it clearly—it was a special footwork technique, combined with a specially made cat claw weapon, that could launch a deadly attack while moving at high speed.
The sword blade clashed violently with the cat's paw, sparks flying everywhere.
Kuina sensed the killing intent in her opponent's attack, but a slight smile appeared on her lips.
"That's more interesting! But I'm sorry... I'm not interested in the image of the weak!"
"Hmph, so young, yet so stubborn!"
Kro's cat claws came at her again, but Kuina calmly dodged to the side.
"Too slow." She even had time to yawn.
Kro's eyes behind his glasses were bloodshot as he sped across the deck, leaving more and more afterimages.
Guina simply closed her eyes and relied solely on the sound of footsteps to determine the location.
"Left side." She parried the attack without turning her head.
"Behind me." He blocked the sneak attack with a backhand stroke.
Kuro gritted his teeth in fury, wildly swinging his ten-bladed cat claws. An unlucky pirate accidentally entered the fray and was instantly torn to shreds.
"Hey, you've hit one of your own people," Kuina kindly reminded him.
"Shut up!" Kro completely lost his temper, and his attacks became increasingly chaotic.
Guina suddenly started imitating his footwork. Although she was clumsy at first, she was able to imitate it quite well after a few rounds.
"Your footwork..." she said thoughtfully, "isn't it supposed to be like this?"
She dodged and moved even faster than Chloe.
Kro stared in disbelief at Kuina, who had suddenly appeared before him, so stunned that he forgot to push up his glasses, which had slipped down to the tip of his nose.
"Looks like I've learned quite well." Kuina smiled slightly, the tip of her sword lightly touching his Adam's apple.
What do you think?!
Chapter 61 Zeff and Sanji
Chloe's cat paw landed on the deck with a "clatter".
"Impossible..." he muttered to himself, "The silent footwork I painstakingly studied..."
Kro stood frozen in place, cold sweat trickling down his forehead. He carefully adjusted his askew glasses, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly beneath the sword tip.
Kuina: "That move was alright, but the movements were too flashy. Now... you can die!"
"Wait!" he cried, his voice strained. "I have a lot of treasure on board; you can take it all!"
"That's it?!" Kuina raised an eyebrow, pushing the tip of her sword forward another half inch.
"I mean it!" Kro quickly added, "There are three more chests of gold in the warehouse! They're all in the lower deck!"
The remaining pirates on the deck looked at each other, and some quietly took a step back.
"Anything else?" Guina asked indifferently.
"And, and my prized sherry! A rare find from the West!" Chloe blurted out, "It's all in my captain's cabin! The key's in my pocket!"
A fat pirate couldn't help but speak up: "Captain! Didn't you say that the wine..."
"Shut up!" Chloe interrupted sharply, then forced a fawning smile at Guina. "Take it all if you like!"
Guina looked at him thoughtfully. "Go on."
"There are also over eight million Berries in cash, hidden in a secret compartment in the captain's cabin!"
"The armory contains fifty finely crafted muskets and twenty boxes of ammunition!"
Kroe spoke faster and faster, "The kitchen pantry still has three months' worth of ingredients, including top-quality ham and cheese!"
Kuina raised an eyebrow, the tip of her sword remaining perfectly still.
"There are twenty barrels of aged whisky in the lower deck!" Crowe hurriedly added, "All top-quality goods collected from various ports!...Please spare my life!"
Guina looked him over thoughtfully: "You're quite sensible."
"Of course! Of course!" Kro nodded repeatedly. "In the business of the sea, the most important thing is to be pragmatic!"
He tried to slowly raise his hand, and seeing that Guina did not object, he carefully took out a bunch of keys from his pocket.
"This is the warehouse key...this is the wine cabinet key...this is..."
The keychain jingled and glittered in the sunlight.
Kuina suddenly sheathed her sword, but showed no intention of carrying it herself. She beckoned to her small boat: "Robin, come and count the spoils."
Kro's smile froze on his face; his plan to launch a sneak attack had failed.
Robin leaped nimbly over the ship's railing, crossing his arms in front of his chest: "A Hundred Flowers in Full Bloom - Thorough Search."
Countless arms grew out from all over the deck, quickly searching the entire ship.
In a short while, three chests of gold, a barrel of sherry, some jewelry, and eight million Berries…
A whole box of muskets and ammunition
Mountainous food boxes
There was even a box of nautical charts and precision instruments.
...and so they were neatly piled on the deck, and then moved back to the small boat.
As Kro watched his life savings being emptied, his legs went weak and he could barely stand.
"A good haul." Robin finished counting and nodded to Kuina.
Kuina looked at the spoils with satisfaction and waved to Kro, "Now you can take your empty ship and go."
Kro watched helplessly as the two returned to their small boat, his heart bleeding, his lips trembling but unable to utter a word.
As the small boat carrying the spoils slowly sailed away, the Black Cat Pirate Ship remained silent.
Kro slumped on the deck, staring at the empty warehouse, and suddenly slapped himself across the face.
"Why should I voluntarily reveal the location of the treasure..."
On a small boat in the distance, Kuina patted a wooden chest filled with gold and smiled at Robin: "We've suddenly become rich, I really don't know how to spend it."
Robin shook his head: "It may seem like a lot, but there will be many places where we'll need the money later."
Liu Jiu remained seated at the bow of the boat, glancing briefly at the box of gold before continuing to gaze into the distance.
Somewhat surprisingly, Kuina just let Kuro, the captain of the Black Cat Pirates, go?!
Several days passed, and the small boat sailed peacefully in the East China Sea.
Suddenly, Robin stood up and pointed into the distance: "Something's up."
On the beach of a deserted island in the distance, a blond boy was frantically waving a tattered shirt, while a emaciated man who had lost his right leg sat beside him.
Kuina immediately steered her boat closer. Upon assessing the situation, her pupils contracted slightly—
These two were none other than Red-Leg Zeff and young Sanji. They were so hungry that they were skin and bones. Zeff's broken leg was simply bandaged with rags, and the wound was already inflamed and festering.
"Water..." Sanji pleaded with his last ounce of strength.
Without hesitation, Guina threw out the water bag.
What was truly touching was that Sanji, upon receiving the water bag, immediately held it to Zeff's lips: "Old man...you drink first..."
Zeff pushed his hand away: "You brat...you drink it yourself..."
Watching the two still pushing each other aside in their desperate situation, Kuina remained silent for a moment, then turned around and began to take out flour, cured meat, water, vegetables... from the spoils of war... she even took out the Black Cat Pirates' medical kit.
"These..." Zeff's voice choked with emotion, "are too precious..."
"They were all stolen anyway," Guina said, pointing to the cargo hold. "There's plenty more inside."
The small boat was moored on the shore of the deserted island.
Kuina and Robin settled the weakened Zeff and Sanji in a shady spot and replenished their strength with the water and food they had brought.
"Thank you all..." Zhefu leaned against the rock, his voice still weak, "Once I recover, I will repay you handsomely."
A few days later, Zhefu's health improved significantly. He dragged out a heavy cloth bag filled with gold and silver jewelry from a hidden hideout.
"This is my savings from many years of hard work," Zeff said, pushing the bag towards Guina. "Please accept it."
Guina didn't even glance at the bag of treasure, her gaze fixed directly on Zeff: "I can tell you're a very capable person."
She slowly drew her sword: "Shall we have a fight?"
Zeff paused for a moment, then shook his head: "I have no reason to fight with a woman."
"Is it because you look down on women?"
"On the contrary." Zeff calmly gazed at her. "At sea, I will not look down on any woman, and even if she corners me, I will never lay a hand on her. Isn't that the behavior of a gentleman?"
Kuina pursed her lips and deftly sheathed her sword.
"I'd rather you weren't so gentlemanly."
She turned and walked towards Robin, who was reading a book, her tone clearly disappointed. "How boring."
Robin looked up from between the pages of the book, glanced at Zeff, then at the sulking Kuina, a knowing smile playing on his lips, but said nothing.
