"You really gave me a fright, Iruka-sensei," Naruto said, clapping his hands in agreement.
Hinata clapped along, but Sasuke wouldn't do that; he's known for being cold-blooded.
"Well, if you weren't scared, you don't need to be so awkwardly accommodating." Iruka could feel the awkward atmosphere around him, and even a crow flew over his head.
'Idiot, idiot!'
"Then why is Iruka-sensei here?" Naruto lowered his hand and raised an eyebrow as he asked.
“Because at the end of this exam, it’s us Chunin who will greet the examinees, and I just happen to be the messenger who is very important to you!” Iruka took a few steps forward.
"A messenger?" Hinata asked curiously.
Iruka took out his small pocket watch and glanced at it: "They actually arrived here on the first day. No wonder they are my most outstanding students."
He looked intently at Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke's faces, then announced with a big, warm smile, "Congratulations, you've passed the second test!"
"Yay! To celebrate, let Iruka-sensei treat us to Ichiraku Ramen!" Naruto shouted excitedly, his right hand slapping his left palm.
“ε=(?ο`*))) Huh?” Iruka was taken aback. Looking at the three students in front of him with excited expressions, he immediately sensed that something was wrong.
Is his wallet about to be emptied?
"No way, no way? We went through all that trouble to pass the exam, and Iruka-sensei isn't even going to treat us to a meal?" Naruto looked at Iruka with teary eyes.
"Well, no, that's not it." Iruka scratched his head and said.
He simply couldn't bring himself to refuse a student.
He also felt a sense of relief that they passed the exam so quickly.
But things that go through so much hardship...
He glanced at the three men's clean clothes and faces, but couldn't tell the difference at all.
"Let's go, let's eat ramen, let's eat ramen!" Naruto was already dragging Iruka's clothes and trying to walk out.
"Come on, Naruto, I'll treat you, you don't need to drag me along!" Iruka protested, raising his fist.
Hinata and Sasuke suddenly chuckled. Although they had just eaten barbecue, who could resist having another bowl of Ichiraku Ramen?
Everyone here has a big appetite.
Anko, whom Naruto had casually rescued, had already been taken back by other Anbu members.
The Third Hokage gazed at the peaceful scene outside the window for a long time before turning back to look at Anko.
She clutched her shoulder in pain, where a cursed mark was visible.
"How are you feeling? Does the cursed seal still hurt?" the Third Hokage asked in a deep voice, a pipe dangling from his lips.
"Thanks to you, I feel much better now," Hongdou said, putting her hand down and putting on her trench coat.
Izumo Shinzuki and Tetsuo Koko, who were serving as examiners for this event, were also among them.
Gangzi Tetsu said, "After all, he is Orochimaru, one of the Legendary Sannin. Even if the other Anbu were present, they probably wouldn't be able to do anything to him."
"I heard he left Konoha a long time ago, so why did he suddenly reappear in Konoha and even enter the Forest of Death?" Izumo Kamitsu frowned in confusion.
Red Bean lowered her head and pondered for a moment, recalling what Orochimaru had told her. She murmured, "Perhaps, it's because..."
Before he could finish speaking, the Third Hokage interrupted, "Is it because of Sasuke?"
Anko paused for a moment, then looked at the Third Hokage, wondering how he knew.
The Third Hokage took off his pipe, looked again at the peaceful scene outside the window, and said in a deep voice, "Pass down the word: strengthen patrols in the village to ensure its safety. If Orochimaru is spotted, report to me immediately."
"Yes!" the three answered in unison.
After the three left, the Third Hokage looked solemn as he recalled the letter Itachi had sent back.
Orochimaru was defeated by him and escaped from the Akatsuki organization. He might turn his attention to Sasuke and ask him to protect Sasuke's safety.
"Don't worry, Itachi. With Naruto here, Sasuke will be fine." The Third Hokage glanced at the monitor.
Inside, a surveillance video was playing showing Naruto pulling Iruka away.
In the video, Sasuke is calm and composed, following Naruto's footsteps with an easy expression.
If you hadn't been so radical back then, perhaps the relationship between the village and the Uchiha clan would have improved by now.
He sighed deeply, turned around, and left.
The second Chunin Exams lasted five days. After Iruka announced that Naruto had passed, the remaining time was up to the examinees to manage themselves.
So it's not entirely unreasonable for Naruto and the others to take Iruka out for ramen.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Iruka-sensei!" Naruto patted his round belly and waved to Iruka with a big smile.
Hinata and Sasuke are from large clans and have received etiquette training.
He certainly wouldn't be as crude as Naruto.
"Thank you, Teacher Iruka." They bowed slightly to thank Iruka.
"Hehe, you're welcome. I wish you all the best in your upcoming exams!" Iruka forced a smile and waved goodbye to the three of them.
After the three figures disappeared from sight, Iruka looked at his wallet, feeling utterly devastated.
No salary this month!
Searchable! Why did I have to run into Naruto and the others?!
He looked up at the sky, speechless and choked with emotion.
The three returned to the Uchiha residence.
Xiangling is still here. We need to transfer her household registration to Konoha while we still have time.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to move around easily in Konoha Village; being an unregistered resident could get her arrested.
Naruto led her to the administration hall, where, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Third Hokage was working.
When the staff in the administration hall saw Naruto, they all stopped in their tracks and respectfully greeted him, "Young Master Naruto."
After finding out that the Third Hokage was indeed in his office, Naruto, accompanied by Karin, strode confidently into the Hokage's office and kicked open the door.
"Old man, I'm here!"
Chapter 53 Naturalization
Xiangling's face turned pale with fright. This was one of the highest-ranking people in the entire ninja world. Although Naruto was the son of the Fourth Hokage, could he really just casually enter the Hokage's office?
"Why aren't you preparing for your exams? What are you doing here?" The Third Hokage glanced at Xiangling and discreetly put away the crystal ball on the table.
If there are outsiders present, you still need to pay attention to your image.
"There's something I need to trouble you with, old man," Naruto said with a smile, pointing at Xiangling.
"Oh? Tell me about it," the Third Hokage said, narrowing his eyes.
“She was originally a ninja from the Grass Village, but now I want to improve her into a Konoha ninja,” Naruto said.
Upon hearing this, Xiangling pursed her lips and lowered her head, not daring to look at the Third Generation. To her, this person was an important figure.
"What's the reason?" The Third Hokage looked at Naruto curiously. He knew Naruto was a kind child, but he wouldn't do this without a reason.
“Her surname is Uzumaki, and she doesn’t do well in Kusagakure,” Naruto replied.
The Third Hokage looked at Karin, whose fiery red hair he hadn't seen in a long time.
Is he a descendant of the Uzumaki family?
“If it’s just an ordinary person, then a word is enough. But if it’s a ninja, then the Grass Village will register them as well,” the Third Hokage said in a deep voice, taking a puff of his pipe.
Xiangling's heart sank.
"You mean, you want to destroy the Grass Village?" Naruto blinked and looked at the Third Hokage.
"Hoo!!!" The Third Hokage exhaled a smoke ring and glared at Naruto with annoyance. "There's no need for that. What I mean is, from Konoha's perspective, there's no difference. Just register in Konoha and become a Konoha ninja."
"Does the Grass Ninja Village still dare to come to Konoha to demand an explanation?" The Third Hokage said with a light snort.
"Old man, you're awesome!" Naruto gave him a thumbs up.
"Is that all?" Xiangling couldn't help but ask in a low voice, looking up slightly at the Third Hokage. "So, I can leave Kusagakure now?"
Her tone was full of hope; she really didn't want to stay in that hellish life any longer.
Especially after her mother died, her only thought was to survive.
Only by living can there be hope.
Now, she sees hope.
"Okay, go register. Let Naruto take you. After all, you're relatives. With that connection, who can object to you joining Konoha?" The Third Hokage said with a kind smile.
What could Kusanagi say if he had to rely on relatives?
No matter what, Konoha would also vote against it.
The term "Big Five" is not a joke.
"Alright, I know the ropes, I won't bother you while you're doing your work." Naruto waved his hand and glanced at the Third Hokage's desk, where the crystal ball had been sitting before.
Watching Naruto and Karin leave.
The Third Hokage muttered to himself, "The Uzumaki clan."
He thought of his teacher's wife, Mito Uzumaki, and also of Kushina Uzumaki, and Minato.
With his status as the crown prince, Naruto quickly completed the household registration procedures with Karin.
Xiangling is older than Naruto, so I consider her a distant cousin.
After receiving her household registration in Konoha, Xiangling's eyes welled up with tears.
Tears streamed down her face; she was finally able to leave that cannibalistic village of Kusagakure.
If my mother knew, she would definitely be happy for me.
"Naruto-kun, thank you." Xiangling bowed deeply to Naruto in gratitude.
"Well, we're all from the Uzumaki clan, so there's no need to be so polite," Naruto said, dodging Karin's bow and scratching his head.
If my mother knew that I had found a member of the Uzumaki family, she would be very happy, right?
After returning to the Uchiha residence with Karin, Hinata and Sasuke had already begun their daily training.
The world sees how powerful they are, but they don't know how arduous their efforts and sacrifices have been.
"So, what are your plans after you become a Konoha ninja?" Naruto asked, looking at Karin.
Now that Xiangling is also registered under my household registration, I can't just abandon her.
"I... I can't do anything," Xiangling said softly.
She was used as a blood transfusion bag in Kusagakure.
Hmm, Naruto closed his eyes and began to think.
"If you're from the Uzumaki clan like me, your recovery ability must be very strong, right?" Naruto said to Karin as he opened his eyes.
"Huh?" Xiangling was taken aback for a moment, then nodded and said, "As long as you bite my body, you can recover quickly."
“That’s not what I meant,” Naruto waved his hand. “I meant your own regenerative abilities.”
"It's quick too," Xiangling nodded and said.
So that's why I have such strong recovery ability. Is it a characteristic of the Uzumaki family?
"Strong recovery ability and a large amount of chakra?" Naruto continued to ask.
"Mm." Xiangling nodded.
"What's there to be afraid of? We can train in anything!" Naruto slammed his hand on the table and said. This was the talent of their clan!
"You can learn both taijutsu and ninjutsu. Just follow our training from now on. I'll create shadow clones to teach you," Naruto said, patting his chest.
"Of course, if you have other interests, you can learn them too. Konoha doesn't just have ninjas fighting on the front lines, it also has support ninjas," he added.
"Thank you!" Xiangling said gratefully.
But when she actually starts training, she might not be able to say those words.
Five days passed quickly.
