I'm serious about crouching in the grass: "No, buddy, you don't actually believe that nonsense about entering a game before going to sleep and spending a whole day in the game, only to find that it's 7:30 in the real world?"
"100% virtual, and a free virtual reality headset for beta testers? That kind of gimmick is outdated from years ago."
Zhao Xiaotian, a rich second-generation with the online name "I'm Serious About Crouching in the Grass," sat at his computer desk looking at the game GG his friend had shared with him, and smiled disdainfully.
Zhao Xiaotian casually clicked the "X" on the pop-up window and typed rapidly on the keyboard, venting his opinions to his friend on the other end of QQ, whom he had never met.

Unread messages from my friend's Tank Rearview Mirror in the chat window:
"Brother, let me tell you the truth. I was actually invited to become one of the operations staff at their company. I've tried this game myself, and it's absolutely groundbreaking!"
I dare say that no VR device on the market right now can compare to the company I work for!
"While the game isn't popular yet, I still have a few beta test slots. You should register quickly, or you'll regret it when the game becomes popular and you're fighting with others for a spot!"
My friend, whose online name is Tank Rearview Mirror, sent me another pop-up ad for the game's website. This time, however, it was accompanied by several pictures.
Zhao Xiaotian clicked on the picture and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Dude, where did you take this picture? If this game is really this realistic, I, Zhao Xiaotian, will go live and eat shit while doing a handstand!"
If you're short on cash, let's log in and search for some bargains. Make sure you serve your sugar daddy well, and tips and such will be no problem. *doge*
This time, the tank's rearview mirror didn't respond, leaving only the cheap gaming website, exuding an ancient "legendary" vibe, shimmering with light.
"Still trying to lure you in? If this doesn't work, I'll be scavenging garbage for food!"
Zhao Xiaotian could never imagine what kind of monsters and freaks he was chatting with online.
His friend, whose online name was Tank Rearview Mirror, was currently squatting in a dirty, run-down corner of a market that he used to think only existed in medieval movies and TV shows.
He kept swallowing his saliva as he looked at the freshly baked bread on the stall not far away.
"Viserys, we shouldn't have left Lola's house."
Behind him, a girl wearing similarly dirty old clothes, with long silver-white hair and a face that was dusty but still undeniably beautiful, spoke timidly in a low voice.
The same man with long, silver-white hair, resembling a tank's rearview mirror, or rather Viserys, turned around, startling the girl, and spoke softly:
"We are descendants of Targaryens. Lola is not our friend. That damned upstart insults us with the most vicious and sarcastic language. In his house, we are nothing but clumsy clowns."
Viserys tried his best to mimic the original owner's tone of voice. He had only been in control of this body for a day, and too many changes might arouse suspicion from the future Mother of Dragons, Daenerys.
This was his last resort.
The white-haired, purple-eyed youth, known as the King of Beggars, thought to himself.
"I'm not questioning you, Viserys, I..." Daenerys, seeing that he hadn't turned around to hit her, mustered her courage and said:
"But... I think, since no one is here to help us, perhaps we can go home..."
As Daenerys spoke, her voice grew softer and softer, and finally she lowered her head.
"That's no longer our home, Daenerys! Those damned, lowly servants betrayed their king, right after Sir William's death!"
Daenerys buried her head even deeper. Yes, what nonsense was she spouting? She had somehow awakened her brother's so-called "sleeping dragon's wrath" again.
I should have been more careful, Daenerys thought, closing her eyes in fear, but instead of the expected slap, she didn't receive one.
"If we go back now, they might covet your beauty and sell you as a slave to some pot-bellied, yellow-toothed retired mercenary or a nouveau riche businessman like Lola."
"Think of Lola's lewd eyes, her filthy gaze. You wouldn't want to become their bed slave, would you, my sister, Daenerys?"
Viserys finished speaking without looking at Daenerys's reaction. Having been thrust into the world of Game of Thrones, or perhaps the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, after only one day, he was forced to accept reality.
He quickly got into character, but he still had more pressing issues to resolve.
That was the chat panel in front of him, invisible to others:
Fun-loving gaming group (17 members)
Tank Rearview Mirror: Brothers, I'm fortunate enough to be the operations manager for this game. The above is absolutely true. There are limited spots available for the closed beta test, so it's first come, first served. Come and give it a try!
Same website, same rhetoric, yet no one in the gaming group believed it.
Donut is my pet: Bro, your website is ancient, the video quality is terrible, and your outdated talk won't convince us.
I'm really something: @Upstairs, and the black guy doesn't speak the same language. *bitter smile*
Lightning McQueen: Why are my beloved subjects silent?
Left hand bear paw right hand fish: @Tank rearview mirror, instead of wasting time like this, why not play League of Legends with your bro?
The solution is simple: just look at the game's official website and you can tell it's a small workshop. If a company really made a 100% realistic holographic game, all the major video websites would be buzzing about it.
How could they possibly be doing internal promotion in a small group like ours?
Sighing, Viserys watched as his fellow gamers typed away on their keyboards, having never truly paid attention to his gaming website from the very beginning.
Come to think of it, with this piece of junk website provided by the damn system, even he wouldn't believe that it's a company capable of creating holographic games.
But all of this is real! Viserys pulled out the cheat code he'd awakened that morning—the Ice and Fire Operations Manager sprite—from his mind and questioned:
"Is this the newbie gift pack you mentioned, the beautifully designed registration website for game users?"
"Please let the bullets fly for a while, host. The system is convinced that they will be interested in holographic games." The system sprite looked very much like the Fireman from Fire and Ice.
After jumping out, he didn't mention why the game website was so rudimentary; instead, he anthropomorphically crossed his arms and confidently encouraged Viserys.
Just as Viserys was about to transform into the melee mage Pillar, the game website window changed.
"Number of players applying for closed beta registration (1/100)."
Viserys clicked on the red dot indicating unread messages with delight.
I'm serious about this: I've already registered, so how many days will it take for the virtual reality headset to arrive?
Drip
I'm serious about this: I only registered for this obviously knock-off game out of a desire to help you. Sigh, what can I do? I'm your daddy, so I'll help you by registering a new account since you're working so hard to run the game.
Phew~ We finally managed to fool them!
Viserys breathed a sigh of relief. He was lucky to be able to summon players to work for him at the start of the game, but he was also unlucky because the game website provided by the system was too rudimentary and no players paid attention to him.
Fortunately, he had managed to drag his friend down with him. Viserys looked at his friend on the other end of the chat window and smiled wickedly:
How could I forget my good friends back home while suffering in another world? Come and help me restore my kingdom!
