The temperature in the entire living room plummeted, and a chilling energy fluctuation filled the air.
"Ugh—!" Almost simultaneously, six suppressed groans of pain escaped from the Qiu family members!
Yuan Hao's body stiffened abruptly, veins bulged on his forehead, and large beads of cold sweat instantly soaked his temples.
Yuanfeng let out a muffled groan, his body swaying slightly.
Yuan Hai gritted his teeth and made a gurgling sound.
Yuanping's face turned deathly pale, and her body began to tremble uncontrollably.
Yuanzhi's eyes behind his glasses were filled with pain as he forced himself to steady himself.
Yuanyuan's face contorted in pain, but she bit her lip tightly and didn't cry out.
This time, the black Tai Sui embryos within the six people felt an unprecedented and devastating threat, and their will to survive was completely ignited!
They no longer fight individually, but driven by the instinct for survival, they try to form some kind of resonance and resistance through the weak blood connection between the hosts!
hum!hum!hum!
The black Tai Sui embryos within the six people simultaneously unleashed a strong will to resist!
Waves of cold, filthy, and insane mental shockwaves, like invisible thorns, pierced Zhang Su's consciousness!
At the same time, they frantically drive their tentacles to drill deeper into the host's internal organs and even try to "call" each other, creating violent energy turbulence within the host's body!
The ice-blue sphere of light in the living room began to fluctuate violently, its surface runes flickering on and off!
The icy blue light emanating from the six people flickered, as if they might be overwhelmed by the surging black malice at any moment!
"Hmph! A desperate struggle!" Zhang Su snorted coldly, his face turning slightly pale.
Simultaneously suppressing six parasites with rudimentary collaborative consciousness resulted in a mental backlash far exceeding expectations!
[Warning! Parasite cluster resistance detected! Mental shock intensity exceeds limits! Energy field stability decreases by 7%!] Yuan Shu's alarm sounded in Zhang Su's mind.
[Activate secondary protocol! Strengthen mental barrier! Stabilize energy field! Increase stripping force field strength to Level 3! Forcefully suppress!] Zhang Su roared in his consciousness.
【implement! 】
boom!
The ice-blue sphere of light suddenly burst forth with blinding light! Countless thicker and more solid chains made of pure energy materialized out of thin air inside the sphere, piercing into the bodies of the six people like a net!
More complex and profound runes flowed on the chains, carrying an irresistible power of rules, fiercely twisting towards the wildly writhing Black Tai Sui embryo that was trying to merge and resist!
Sizzle! Sizzle—!
A sickening sound, as if countless flesh and tendons were being forcibly torn apart, rang out densely inside the sphere of light, accompanied by the six people's screams, which were a mixture of extreme pain and a trace of relief, which they could no longer suppress!
At the same time, a deeper, more desperate, collective scream, as if from the abyss, is violently impacting the spiritual level!
Thick, black, cold, and slippery liquid gushed out from the seven orifices of the six people like a fountain!
They were no longer individual streams, but rather attracted and intertwined in the air, attempting to coalesce into a larger, more twisted, and terrifying form! The black viscous liquid churned, vaguely revealing the outlines of countless faces struggling in agony, exuding a nauseating and evil aura!
"Contain!" Zhang Su's eyes flashed with icy blue light, and he slammed his hands together towards the center!
Om-!
Space distorted violently! Six invisible pockets opened instantly above the six clumps of black slime that were struggling and trying to merge. A powerful suction force came, and the terrifying clumps of black slime let out a final, unwilling scream as they were forcibly torn apart and compressed, turning into six black lines that were sucked into their respective spatial rifts with a "whoosh" and disappeared completely!
The blinding icy blue light receded abruptly like a tide.
Thump! Thump! Thump...
The six figures collapsed to the ground, as if all their bones had been removed.
The living room was instantly filled with violent coughing and painful groans.
Dark red blood gushed from their mouths, staining the floor. Each person was deathly pale, breathing weakly, drenched in cold sweat, gasping for breath, their bodies convulsing from excruciating internal pain.
Dongyuan Qiu was in tears, yet his eyes were filled with joy as he looked at his children and granddaughters who were lying on the ground, suffering but still alive.
Mingyuan struggled to sit up, his eyes filled with excitement.
Zhang Su was also slightly out of breath, his forehead covered with fine beads of sweat. Although Yuan Shu had borne most of the burden, the mental shock and the control of such a large amount of energy still made him feel tired.
He glanced around at the six exhausted people on the ground and smiled confidently and relievedly, "How do you feel? I told you, it wasn't that scary, was it?"
Yuan Hao, Yuan Feng, Yuan Hai, Yuan Ping, Yuan Zhi, and Yuan Yuan collapsed to the ground, their faces ashen, their mouths and clothes stained with glaring dark red blood, their bodies twitching slightly uncontrollably from the excruciating pain in their internal organs.
Dongyuan Qiu stood behind them, his hands, covered with age spots, moving with unprecedented urgency, his withered fingers tracing rapid lines in the air.
Warm, soft, pale green runes flowed from his fingertips and precisely entered the chests of the six people on the ground.
This is a healing talisman drawn by a Sequence 8 Talisman Master.
As the talisman entered their bodies, the six people's violent coughing and convulsions significantly lessened, their pained and distorted expressions eased considerably, and their rapid breathing gradually subsided.
After a while, everyone regained some strength. Yuan Hao was the first to struggle to sit up, followed by Yuan Feng, Yuan Hai, Yuan Ping, and Yuan Zhi. Yuan Yuan also stood up with Yuan Hao's help.
Although her face was still pale and her steps were unsteady, she had finally escaped the most dangerous state of weakness.
An unprecedented and indescribable feeling spread through their bodies.
It was as if they had shed the invisible shackles that had been borne for a hundred years, or as if they had broken free from the heavy constraints of being mired in the quagmire.
My body has never felt so "light," and every breath I take carries a strange sense of clarity, as if years of blockage have been completely cleared.
Yuanyuan Qiu even subconsciously tiptoed, feeling as if her body was floating and about to fly.
Besides Yuanyuan, Yuanhao, Yuanfeng, and the other four also felt that the extraordinary power flowing in their blood had disappeared and could no longer be felt at all.
They instinctively tried to mobilize their strength to soothe the hidden pain in their wounds, but all they felt was emptiness.
This immense sense of loss is not sadness or disappointment, but a bewildered emptiness, like a person who has suddenly gone blind, whose familiar senses have abruptly disappeared, leaving behind a sense of disorientation, silence, and alienation.
They looked at each other, their eyes meeting in a silent confirmation, and a kind of... the silence after the dust had settled.
Dongyuan Qiu carefully sensed the flow of the talismanic light within their bodies. His tense old face finally relaxed, and he let out a long sigh of relief: "It's alright, it's alright. There are some tears in the internal organs, but the talismanic light has stopped the bleeding and relieved the pain, accelerating the healing. You should take your medicine and rest properly from now on, and avoid strenuous exercise. Your bodies will recover slowly on their own."
"Yes, Father (Grandfather)," the group replied weakly.
Dongyuan Qiu nodded, then walked up to Zhang Su, bowed deeply, and said calmly, "Lord Zhang Su, thank you for saving my family again. Now, it's my turn."
"Dad!" Yuan Hao's voice carried a hint of barely perceptible panic. He almost staggered forward, instinctively grabbing Dong Yuan's thin but firm arm. "We're not in a hurry! You just finished surgery on the six of us. Your mental strength and spiritual energy must be severely depleted. Let him rest well tonight, and we can operate on you tomorrow!"
His voice was pleading, and his eyes were fixed on his father's face, trying to find a trace of hesitation in his eyes.
Then, Dongyuan Qiu slowly turned around, looking at the reluctance and pleading hidden in his eldest son's eyes, his gaze calm as still water, and said indifferently, "Ahao, I know you are reluctant to part with me, but I really should go."
He gently patted Yuan Hao's hand that was gripping his arm, signaling him to let go.
"I've already told you everything that needed to be said and instructed you countless times over the years. Those interesting stories and regrets that I didn't have time to tell you are no longer important. After I'm gone, you will be the head of the Qiu family. You will lead everyone on your own path, whether it's smooth or thorny, it's up to you to decide."
“But, Dad…” Yuan Hao wanted to persuade him again.
Dongyuan gently shook his head, interrupting him: "Don't try to persuade me anymore. Tai Sui has tormented me for too long; every day and night has been torture. Today is the auspicious time, a good time for liberation. Just let me go, don't try to stop me."
"Dad!" Yuan Hao was about to say something more when his throat felt like it was blocked by something, and hot tears welled up in his eyes without warning. All his words turned into a sob. This sob was like opening a floodgate.
"Father!"
"dad!"
"grandfather!"
Yuanfeng, Yuanhai, Yuanping, Yuanzhi, Yuanyuan, Mingyuan… the grief of all the Qiu family members could no longer be contained. Yuanping covered her face and cried uncontrollably, Yuanhai turned his head away and his shoulders heaved violently, Yuanzhi clenched his teeth but could not stop the tears from streaming down his face, and Yuanyuan threw herself into Mingyuan's arms, her vision blurred by tears.
Suppressed sobs instantly filled the entire living room; grief, like a tangible tide, overwhelmed everyone.
This time, Dongyuan Qiu did not sternly stop them as usual. He simply stood quietly, letting the sorrowful cries of parting surround him, his aged face bearing an almost serene calm.
Let them cry, I'm leaving soon anyway.
Zhang Su stood silently to the side, watching the scene of parting filled with deep sorrow.
The heart-wrenching cries, the undisguised reluctance and pain, the most instinctive resistance to the passing of life... all of this was so familiar, yet so heavy.
A touch of sadness welled up in his heart. No matter how the world changes, the profound grief that humans feel when faced with the loss of a loved one is so universal.
He didn't urge them, but waited quietly, allowing this final farewell to be completed.
Dong Yuan Qiu gently removed Yuan Hao's hand from hers, her movements gentle yet firm.
He took one last deep look at his weeping children and grandchildren, forever etching their faces into the depths of his soul.
Then, he resolutely turned around, facing Zhang Su again, straightening his hunched back, his cloudy eyes revealing only a calm resolve:
"Your Excellency, I'm entrusting this to you."
Zhang Su met his frank gaze, nodded solemnly, and a sense of respect welled up in his heart: "Goodbye, Mr. Dongyuan Qiu. Although we've only known each other for less than a day, I will remember you."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Su gently raised his hands and placed them on Dong Yuan Qiu's thin, slightly trembling shoulders.
An icy blue light shone once more from the depths of his eyes, this time with a touch of solemnity, as if bidding farewell to the old man.
The weeping in the living room did not stop; instead, it grew even more mournful, playing a final elegy for the departing pillar of the family.
—At this final moment, which should have ended peacefully, an unexpected change occurred.
The moment the light formed by Zhang Su's spiritual energy entered Dong Yuan Qiu's body, a terrifying power erupted from within him! It was the power of the Black Tai Sui that had transformed into darkness, and was now eroding Zhang Su's light.
In an instant, he was pulled into endless darkness!
When Zhang Su opened his eyes, he saw a lake in front of him. The black water in the lake surged and made sounds like a baby's laughter and strange cries.
He walked forward uncontrollably...
Volume 1: Remarks on the launch
Dear readers and friends:
Hello everyone!
When you see this author's note, it means that "Time Travel and Establishment of the Anomaly Management Bureau!" has come a long way, with a cumulative update of over 12 words.
Tomorrow afternoon, this book will reach an important milestone: it will be officially released!
First and foremost, thank you all for your continued reading, comments, votes, and support! It is your daily companionship that has allowed Zhang Su's story to unfold step by step, and given meaning to the exploration of the steam and extraordinary mists of this world.
Every click and every comment you leave is the warmest motivation for my writing journey.
After it's released, the story will enter a more crucial chapter. We sincerely hope that everyone will continue to support us by subscribing and accompanying us on this journey!
The idea of writing this book had been lingering in my mind for three whole years.
It all stems from that masterpiece that completely captivated me, a book I still revisit from time to time—Lord of Mysteries. Klein's story, and that vast world that blends steampunk, Cthulhu mystery, and a sophisticated supernatural sequence, planted a seed deep within my heart.
Even after all this time, the whispers of the Tarot Club, the dense fog of Backlund, the law of convergence of extraordinary traits… these images and settings remain vivid. From that moment on, I have longed to build my own world, one with a similar yet unique atmosphere, to tell a story about “abnormality” and “order,” “curse” and “redemption.”
However, ideals are often far from reality.
At that time, I felt that my writing skills were immature and my ideas were far from mature. Coupled with the entanglements of various trivial matters in life, this idea could only remain in my heart, silently brewing, and I could only repeatedly sketch the image of Zhang Su and the outline of the Abnormal Management Bureau in the dead of night.
Until July of this year. >#栮溜鸸亻尔⑴ 龄ba-月椅
To be honest, the motivation for starting to write this had a bit of a "do or die" feel to it.
Previous attempts at fan fiction and fantasy themes were unsatisfactory, and the first release of /悦-怡/ was a dismal flop.
Repeated setbacks made me realize that perhaps only by writing down the "dream" that has lingered in my heart the longest and been conceived the deepest can I unleash my true passion and potential.
So, I finally mustered up the courage to let Zhang Su step into another world and bring the idea of the Anomaly Management Bureau into the novel.
Since the book's inception, I must frankly say that its statistics are perhaps even more "dismal" than those of previous flops.
But! This was the most enjoyable, most immersive, and least painful writing experience I've ever had in my writing career!
Opening a document and typing a new chapter every day is not a task for me, but a pleasure.
Like everyone else, I'm eager to know what Zhang Su will do next, how the fate of the world will change, and what kind of veil will be lifted from the world rules hidden behind the scenes.
A renowned online novelist once said that every author has a "dream book" in their heart, a book that is infinitely close to the perfect story in their ideal.
Writing a book like this is the greatest reward in itself. Even if not many people read it, the joy of creation is enough to keep me going. I think "Time Travel, and Then Establish the Anomaly Management Bureau!" is my "dream book." Just look at the update count of each chapter (o(*≧▽≦)ツ┏━┓), if it weren't for having to go to work tomorrow and worrying that the chapters would be too long and affect the reading experience, I could really write until dawn!
Every day, my writing time is filled with pure joy and anticipation.
It will be available tomorrow, and the updates will be as frequent as ever!
It's still a long chapter of 6000+ words!
Moreover, the plot is about to reach a crucial climax and a major shock!
