Chapter 55: The Right Thing
Chapter 55: The Right Thing
"Moenge, can we learn magic too?!"
Lisanna stared wide-eyed at Moen in utter surprise.
When Elfman told her about Moen's idea, the little girl didn't hesitate at all and immediately expressed her desire to learn "receiving magic".
Lisanna felt indebted to Mira because she was also afraid when she first saw Mira's arm, which made her feel ashamed when she thought about it now.
Therefore, when she learned that there was a chance to make amends, Lisanna grasped at the opportunity as if it were a lifeline and refused to let go. She looked at Moen expectantly, afraid of receiving a negative answer.
"Let's meditate first."
Moen did not give a definite answer, because he was not sure about it either.
Logically speaking, Elfman and Lisanna, the brother and sister, should be capable of sensing magic power.
The reason is simple: their older sister, Mirajane, is a genius capable of awakening magic on her own. As siblings, Elfman and Lisanna must also possess some magical talent.
Magical talent is something that can truly be inherited. Laxus is a perfect example. It's rare for a mage's child to be unable to use magic; it's simply a matter of how much talent they have.
That's why Moen came up with this idea, but he couldn't be too sure of himself, in case he actually won the lottery.
It would be hilarious if Elfman and Lisanna were both Muggles.
"Okay, we'll try our best!"
Although Moen did not give a definite answer, Lisanna was not discouraged. She and her brother Elfman would work hard and seize this opportunity.
'What a beautiful and pure feeling.'
Looking at Lisanna and Elfman, Moen couldn't help but sigh in his heart. The three sisters, who grew up relying on each other, were all willing to work their lives for each other.
"It will succeed."
Moen offered a reassuring remark to the two of them.
"Calm down and slowly experience it."
With the two children in the guild's quiet room, Moen began to guide them to feel the magic and find the source of the magic within themselves.
Meditation and perception of magic is a long process that cannot be achieved overnight. Although Moen himself has not experienced this process, he has heard it from others.
Moen's "magic" was also "awakened" by himself. In a sense, his "magic" is actually the [Saint Seiya System].
In the quiet room, Lisanna and Elfman sat quietly, beginning to meditate according to Moen's instructions.
A moment later, Elfman suddenly stood up excitedly.
"Um?"
Moen looked at Elfman with surprise. This child was so easily startled. Could it be that he had already sensed it?
"Moenge, I can sense magic!"
Elfman clenched his fists tightly, looking extremely excited.
Looking at the excited Elfman, Moen smiled and shook his head. He did not detect any magical aura on Elfman.
"Take your time, don't rush. You haven't even stepped inside yet."
Moen gestured for Elfman to continue meditating, but he was already relieved. Elfman definitely had talent; this guy must have already sensed the existence of magic. That's the difference between a mage and a "Muggle".
There is magic in everything in the world, and there is magic within everyone. In fact, magic and vitality are highly linked.
The only difference between a mage and a "Muggle" is whether or not they can sense the existence of magic; that is the only barrier to entry.
Elfman is now on the threshold, just one last step away.
"Yes, brother!"
Elfman sat down again and continued meditating. His talent did seem to be slightly better than Lisanna's, who was still frowning and trying hard to find the feeling.
However, it doesn't matter now that Lisanna can't sense magic. As long as one of them can learn to "receive magic," it will still have a critical hit effect on Mirajane.
Moen stood guard at the entrance of the meditation room, waiting for the two of them. He was also preventing anyone from barging in and disturbing their meditation. Since it concerned his mission, he was going to take over this meditation room today!
During this time, Natsu and Gray were playfully wrestling and moving closer, only to be kicked back by Moen, one by one.
The two brothers were completely bewildered after being kicked for no reason. Usually, Mo En would not interfere when the two of them fought, so why did he suddenly intervene this time?
"Never mind! Let's fight!"
After being kicked far away by Moen, Natsu jumped up, eager to try again. His "battle addiction" kicked in, and he wanted to challenge Moen once more.
"bump!"
"Splat!"
Facing Natsu, who was charging at him excitedly and aggressively, Moen delivered a clean and decisive punch that made Natsu see stars.
"Drag him away."
Moen looked at Gray, who was frozen in place, and gave the order.
"Yes, Moeng!"
Without saying a word, Gray grabbed Natsu's foot and dragged him away, disappearing in a flash, just past Mirajane who was walking this way.
Gray glanced at the strange cloaked girl and thought she looked a lot like Erza when she first joined the guild.
However, he was too lazy to worry about it. Moen would handle it, just like Erza did back then. This girl should integrate into their group soon, right?
Mirajane huddled inside her cloak, glancing at Gray and Natsu.
Even Mirajane, who is usually withdrawn, thought these two boys were truly bizarre...
She even began to doubt whether the decision to stay was the right one, and whether it was really appropriate to leave Elfman and Lisanna here.
With this question in mind, Mirajane walked up to Moen, who was guarding the door of the meditation room.
Because Moen's height was clearly not appropriate for his age, Mirajane had to lift her head slightly from under her cloak.
"Where are Lisanna and Elfman?"
Mirajane asked, noting that she had seen Elfman bring Lisanna along to find Moen, and that they hadn't appeared for quite some time now, which made her a little worried.
"Inside, I'm teaching them meditation to see if they have any talent for magic. After all, we are a mage guild."
Looking at Mirajane, Moen smiled warmly and spoke.
He had no intention of hiding this, nor could he possibly hide it.
In order to learn magic, Lisanna and Elfman would inevitably have to stay away from Mirajane's sight for a long time, so they needed a suitable reason. Telling the truth would prevent Mirajane from overthinking it.
All we need to do is keep quiet about learning "receiving magic." It's that simple. Just have Lisanna and Elfman keep saying they're still meditating and haven't started learning magic yet.
"Meditation...magic..."
Mirajane lowered her head, avoiding looking at Moen's smile. She repeated it softly, the demonic arm clenching into a fist and then relaxing. Although she loathed this "receiving magic," she knew that what Moen was doing was helping them.
"Thanks......"
Mirajane shrank back and spoke in a very soft voice, so soft that Moen thought it was a hallucination.
