Volume Two: Fireworks at Longmen - Chapter Twenty-Two: The Heart Can Move, But the Body Cannot (Isn't that a bit off?)
Not much time? Oh right, I still need to move the mechs and practice. Only after I've practiced enough can I fly those cool mechs and have some fun.
Yun Yi forced himself to stay alert and, following Swire's instructions, shrunk the mecha and parked it in an inconspicuous spot. He then spent some points to activate the training ground and begin simulated training.
At the start of practice, the realistic sense of power, high-speed mobility, and the exhilaration of using various weapons made Yun Yi suppress his thoughts about Shi Huaiya and devote himself entirely to the practice.
More than an hour passed in the blink of an eye.
When Shi Huaiya called a halt, Yun Yi was still full of energy, and because he was in the body of a game character, he didn't seem to have broken a sweat.
However, her ability to pilot mechs has undoubtedly been fundamentally improved.
[Hint: Ability - Mech Piloting Proficiency Greatly Increased]
[Level 0→3]
It skipped three levels directly.
According to the system's definition, she is already a professional, even outstanding, mecha pilot.
"As expected of the training ground, this bonus is terrifying." The training ground is one of the system's built-in functions, and it also requires "giving money" to activate, using points to enable it.
When activated, it allows Yunyi's proficiency levels in various abilities, skills, and talents to be displayed, which can be unconditionally improved through repeated practice.
"Your body is so convenient." Swire didn't care about the system functions she couldn't use; she only envied Yun Yi's body, which never seemed to get tired.
She had been entangled with several groups of people for several hours before she was so exhausted that she fainted. But Yun Yi's body could probably fight for several days straight!
"Hold me, and I'll grant you access." Yun Yi's eyes crinkled with amusement as he half-jokingly said this.
"This can be exchanged?" Swire ignored Yun Yi's strange words and only cared about this point.
"Of course." Yun Yi thought of the endless goods in the system shop, many of which she couldn't buy but coveted. Among them were naturally things similar to her game character's body, but they were very expensive.
It can only be said that the items the system gave her at the beginning were all of high quality.
"If you really want it, I'll get it for you once I have enough points." Yun Yi remembered that they had discussed this matter at the beginning of their negotiations, so she made the promise without thinking.
After all, it would cost Swire twice as much to redeem it herself as it did for Yunyi.
Swire raised her hand to tap her on the head, but then realized the height difference made it awkward, so she withdrew her hand and scolded, "What are you showing off for, you idiot!"
“What I want, I can get myself.” Swire was very confident. “It seems that giving you the land only earned you a little over a thousand points, which led you to misunderstand my financial resources.”
"Just you wait, I'll show you what real wealth is." She glanced at Yun Yi and scoffed, "As for your points, save them to better equip yourself!"
"But I'm strong enough already, aren't I?" Yun Yi raised her hand, surrounded by various advanced and convenient technological devices, with a soft blue light connecting her to the simulated mecha not far away.
The mech in the model has just cleaved a mountain in two—that's the power of a cosmic-level mech. Even the most basic structure can easily break through a mountain and remain completely undamaged.
"Are you kidding me?" Swire's tone was sharp as she reminded him, "If you were just an ordinary person, I would say this level of strength is impressive; you'd be a VIP wherever you go. But are you?"
"...No." Yun Yi's mind cooled down for a moment, and she calmly asked, "Are there many beings on Terra capable of breaking through mountains?"
This question made Swire hesitate.
After a while, she said ambiguously, "It's hard to say whether it's more or less. Both Victoria and Yan have this kind of combat power, and Ursus, which is adjacent to it and once intended to expand, also has equivalent combat power."
"The information about the other countries is relatively complex. Apart from a few countries that have survived due to their unique geographical locations, what do you think is the reason for their survival?" Swire spread her hands to Yun Yi, indicating that she should answer.
Yun Yi understood, and said in a somber tone, "They also have roughly the same national strength."
“Then, you need to understand one thing.” Swire withdrew her hand, her eyes resolute, and said, “Yan Kingdom doesn’t have just one or two corresponding combat forces, but an entire army. And these are only at the national level.”
She listed them one by one: "Other civilian forces, forces in the opposition, independent powerful figures, and relics of strange technologies scattered throughout the world... there are simply too many to count."
After saying this, Swire placed her hands on Yun Yi's shoulders, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes: "Yun Yi, the most tempting thing about your immortality is those who wield power and hold high positions."
“So—” Swire grabbed Yun Yi’s collar and suddenly pulled hard, making Yun Yi’s forehead touch hers.
As their eyes met, Shi Huaiya's expression was one of seriousness.
Her breath mingled with Yun Yi's, her pine-green eyes burning brightly: "Until you're truly safe, use all your points on yourself!"
"I understand, thank you for your concern." Yun Yi's fingers unconsciously gripped the collar of his shirt, trying to free it from Swire's grasp.
Her gaze followed suit, and the man in front of her was so charming that she couldn't bear to look at him. If she did, she would hear her heart pounding like a drum and fall back into that embarrassing, out-of-control state.
Before she truly falls in love with the other person, she doesn't want to be controlled by her own desires; that's wrong, disrespectful to herself, and disrespectful to the other person.
"W-what concern? I'm warning you! I don't want to hear news of an acquaintance disappearing out of nowhere one day!" Swire snapped out of her daze, released Yun Yi's grip, took a step back, took a deep breath, straightened her ears, and denied Yun Yi's casual words, drawing Yun Yi's attention back.
Yun Yi's eyes softened, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.
Isn't this what it means to care?
She didn't argue, but went along with what the other person said, trying to coax them back to normal: "I understand, don't worry, I won't let you hear such news!"
"You know it yourself!" But he failed, and Swire's tiger ears bent further and further back.
With a complex expression of both satisfaction and displeasure, she said in a stiff voice, "There's no need to repeat yourself."
"Okay, okay." Yun Yi raised his hands, realizing that he had no idea how to handle this situation.
She abruptly changed the subject, saying, "By the way, about acting recklessly, you promised to go with me to act recklessly once, shall we go now?"
"You bastard..." Can't you speak properly? The conversation shifted so obviously. Are you sure you didn't do it on purpose?
Swire narrowed her eyes and stared at Yun Yi suspiciously. Yun Yi gave her an innocent and beautiful smile and asked, "Is there a problem? Is there anything I need to prepare?"
“That’s right,” Swire followed her words and looked away, taking out a stack of bloodstained papers and a slightly broken hard drive.

Volume Two: Fireworks at Longmen: Chapter Twenty-Three: Pre-Operation Mobilization—Is It Necessary?
"Longmen is made up of the Upper City, the Middle City, and the Lower City—did you know that?" Swire took out the items, held up the bloodstained paper, remained silent for a moment, and then suddenly asked.
"I don't know." Yun Yi shook his head decisively, looking puzzled. "Dragon Gate, is it a mobile city? Is it divided into three levels, upper, middle, and lower?"
As expected, Swire remained calm. She raised her hand and pointed to the outside view synchronized with the mech's cockpit, explaining, "The place we are in now is one of the dividing points between the lower and middle city areas."
“The upper, middle, and lower city areas are not actually three levels, but rather a division of a city into three worlds through people, buildings, and order.” Swire lowered her eyes, her eyelashes trembling as she concealed the complex emotions in her gaze, and said truthfully, “You can simply understand it as the rich area, the working-class area, and the slums.”
“Social group stratification based on wealth stratification.” Yun Yi suddenly realized, his lips slightly pursed: “That’s common, but they wouldn’t say it so directly like Longmen does.”
Slums and the like are a stain on the political fabric, and it's generally impossible to put them out in the open like that.
“Because the Lower City is not under the jurisdiction of the Upper City.” Swire explained the reason: “The Lower City has its own ‘Rat King,’ which you can think of as an entity that is almost on par with the rulers of Lungmen.”
"How is that ruler?" Yun Yi asked, but a deep smile appeared in his eyes. "The Rat King is quite something, actually making the ruler share power with the slum king."
"What are you laughing at? Our operation will definitely cause some trouble for the Rat King. You can laugh when we get caught." Swire gave Yun Yi a cool look, making her shrink back and shut her mouth.
"It's today. I didn't want to deal with these things." Swire sighed and then explained in detail: "The Lower City is mostly inhabited by the poor, infected and gang members. The Rat King relies on a gray order to maintain this place and assists Governor Wei in managing Lungmen."
“Gray doesn’t sound good, and it’s actually not very clean.” Swire clenched the paper in her hand, as if trying to convince herself, and said, “But this is a necessary measure to maintain the stability of the entire Lungmen.”
Yun Yi remained silent. She was unfamiliar with the situation here and had no right to discuss such a heavy topic.
“In short!” Swire swallowed the unnecessary words and went straight to the core: “Because the Rat King has always turned a blind eye to some local gangs, letting them run wild within the bounds, but he is extremely strict with gangs from other places, eliminating them if they cross the line. The Dragon Gate gang is very xenophobic.”
“Without checks and balances, the old gangs are gradually reaching for things they shouldn’t be touching. You can see the details for yourself.” Swire handed the paper in her hand to Yun Yi.
"...Are you sure this is a gray industry?" Yun Yi quickly flipped through the document, his pupils trembling, and asked incredulously.
Can these things even be considered gray? They're practically black!
“That’s why I don’t like the Rat King.” Swire avoided the topic, but faced with the landscape of half ruin and half prosperity, he repeatedly emphasized: “But his actions were also necessary.”
"These are all targets, right? Can we smash them all?" Knowing that Swire didn't want to say more, Yun Yi simply spread out all the papers and used the equipment in the mecha cockpit to make them float neatly in front of her. She clenched her fist once for each one, and in the end, all she could think about was that it would be better to destroy them all.
"Don't even think about it. It's impossible to uproot them completely." Swire saw through Yun Yi's naive intentions at a glance and bluntly denied them: "Smashing everything would only be a loss. As long as the Rat King is still here, the Dragon Gate is still here, and the people are still here, these things will reappear."
"Smash it every time it comes?" Yun Yi asked tentatively.
Swire denied it again: "You will definitely be targeted by the Rat King. Although there is no clear record, the Rat King is very powerful and has some elite subordinates. Judging from Governor Wei's attitude, the Rat King could very well hurt you."
“Don’t take risks,” Swire emphasized.
Yun Yi was immediately confused: "Then what are we going to do? What happened to our plan to cause trouble?"
She thought they were just going to smash up these inhumane events.
“Go rescue people and cause destruction,” Swire replied immediately.
After saying that, a playful flame ignited in her eyes: "There were quite a few things going on during my coma, but no matter what, it can't get around the Rat King as the gang leader. If I have the ability, of course I have to give him a taste of his own medicine."
"...Isn't this still causing trouble?"
"Why is all you thinking about is causing trouble!" Swire glared at her, the fire in her eyes subsiding considerably.
She raised her hand as if giving up, pointed to a piece of paper floating in mid-air, and explained: "Take this as an example. We can't just crash the place. That wouldn't be ruining their business, but rather playing with the lives of the victims."
"Therefore, our goal is to prioritize taking away involuntary personnel."
Swire's fingers brushed across the paper, stopping at the description of the victims' horrific condition. He nodded and said, "Your mech can shrink to a very small size, and the cockpit is large enough. Combined with the other functions of the mech, you can take them away silently—tell me you can do it."
“It can definitely be done.” Yun Yi opened his arms, connected to the mecha, and with the violent shaking of space, the objects in the surrounding external scene became extremely large.
Outside, the mecha has shrunk to the size of a medium-sized doll; without close inspection, it would just look like someone's lost mecha figurine.
Inside the cockpit, the size of the space remained unchanged.
Yun Yi raised his arm, and the mecha simultaneously raised a mechanical arm, its palm aimed at a rock in the distance. A beam of blue light flashed by, and then the rock appeared beside Yun Yi, enveloped in a futuristic blue membrane.
“Look.” Yunyi’s fingers easily pierced through the blue membrane, and he picked up the stone to show it to Shi Huaiya.
"Then do it this way, and when the hostages, no, the victims are gathered at Siba Temple, it's best to suck them all in at once."
"Understood, but I want to blow them up after all the victims have been brought in!" Yun Yi clenched his fist and pleaded.
"It's up to you. You're in charge." Swire didn't care. It would be good to annoy those annoying guys. If they exploded too much, it might indirectly cause the gang to fall apart.
"Then I'll try my best." I'll try my best to reduce everything to ruins, ensuring that the gangs doing this garbage won't be able to recover any valuable items.
"After that, go and bomb their vaults and defective goods warehouses." Swire's lips curled up in a smile as she said, "Before that, take what you can and give it to the victims; if you can't take it, blow it to ashes. Don't worry about the cryptocurrency."
"Rest assured, we will only target the most rampant and malignant tumors."
"Is it really possible to do that?" Yun Yi hesitated instead. "What if the targets are hidden very well, and we can't find them even after searching for a long time?"

Volume 2: Fireworks at Longmen: Chapter 24 Ready to go!
Swire tapped her temple with her index finger, raised her chin slightly, and smiled smugly: "Don't underestimate me. The information here is enough for us to find suitable communication partners."
"Specific intelligence will be told to us by both enemies and friends."
After confidently finishing her statement, Swire added, "Remember to decorate this place and the mechs, at least so that people can't immediately tell where we come from."
"Then it's up to you! As for hiding? Simple." Yun Yi waved her hand, and the blue membrane that originally covered her body and the stone rippled and transformed into a shimmering black substance, not only completely concealing Yun Yi, but also making her figure look like a dark and muscular wolf-headed beastman.
The black sci-fi membrane on the stone flowed and detached, crossing a certain distance to cover Swire's body, shaping her into a more ferocious, dark wolf-headed beastman with terrifying scars, looking like a henchman of the boss.
“Simulate Lupo? Good idea.” Swire raised her hand, looked at her hand which resembled a clawed beast’s paw, and nodded in approval.
Yunyi, who is unfamiliar with Terra, may have simply used this image by chance.
The two gangs in Syracuse are indeed quite unruly.
Swire recalled the gang members who had attacked him.
Those crude and dilapidated firearms, produced in such large quantities, might very well have been funded by these out-of-town gangs.
It is difficult to understand the other party's reasons for funding the VIII Division of the Three-Cage Wife Vor Temple to deal with her.
With that in mind, Swire decided to give Yunyi some general knowledge.
