Chapter 344 Duke and Knight
Chapter 344 Duke and Knight
Dick looked up at the top of the tower, recalling the scene of the battle that had just taken place there.
After killing all the enemies in his field of vision, he turned and left.
So, could the other party be:
"They clung to the edge of the wall, hanging on the outside of the tower, and evaded my search."
Harley nodded: "If that's the case, he should have spotted me much earlier. Why didn't he come down sooner? He could have easily killed me then."
"I guess in his eyes, I'm the threat, not you," Dick said. "So he's waiting for me to show up so he can use you to threaten me."
If that's the case, then this man's judgment is quite accurate.
Dick did indeed pose a threat. Harriet felt threatened by Miss Peggy's death, and Dick would rather die himself than let Miss Harriet die.
"But," Harriet looked up, "he was able to jump from such a height."
"If it's martial arts techniques and profound skills," Dick said, "it's not surprising that something of this caliber can be achieved."
"Hmm," Harriet nodded, "Sir Buchanan, so what's next?"
Upon hearing this, Dick looked around at the terrifying battlefield:
"Miss, we must clean up the battlefield as soon as possible, but Peggy and Duke Casey are not safe either. They are not able to protect themselves, so I would like to ask you to bring them here to join me as soon as possible."
Harley nodded: "That's possible, but what about you?"
Dick said, "I must first cut off the heads of all the corpses to make sure none of them are faking death and planning to escape after I leave, taking our intelligence with them."
"I understand, I'll act immediately!"
"Thank you for your hard work," Dickken said.
Harriet then walked back the way she came.
Dick didn't dare to stop and immediately began to finish up.
In fact, even Dick himself was terrified.
He had killed so many people in a single day.
Moreover, it was only when he fought these soldiers that he realized how strong he was!
No, it's that the Dragon's Mystery is too powerful.
Under what conditions did Uriel, the Dragon Master, create this power?
Moreover, Dick only mastered a little over half of the book.
If he could fully master it, he was confident he could defeat this warrior alone.
They even dared to challenge Lord Hubert and force out the loyal dog to use his martial arts skills.
Thinking of this, Dick remembered the warrior's sword.
So he walked toward the corpse and picked up the sword.
I tried swinging it a few times, and it really is a good sword.
Dick's energy is running low, so it's best to use his sword to finish the rest of the work.
So Dick picked up the sword and cut off all the corpse's heads.
Although he now fights unarmed, he is equally skilled with a sword.
During this process, Dick indeed saw people who were pretending to be dead and those who were not quite dead.
Dick, with a cold expression, decisively and completely severed the other man's head.
The loyal dog once told him that one should never have any kindness towards an enemy.
In war, everything must give way to the ultimate victory.
This is Dick's war.
He can only survive, and only by defeating these people can he ensure Peggy's survival.
And they were unjust to begin with.
Although Casey sees Dick as an enemy, Dick has no prejudice against Casey.
If Caesar is the Duke of the Laine Plateau, then those who persecute and usurp Caesar's power are traitors.
Killing the traitors is perfectly justified.
Afterwards, Dick moved all the bodies to one place.
What to do with these bodies is also a big problem.
Just then, Miss Harriet arrived with Peggy and Cathy.
As soon as Peggy came into view, she sped up and ran towards her.
Seeing this, Dick quickly frowned and shouted:
"Peggy! Slow down! Be careful not to run out of oxygen!"
This girl is such a worry; her health can't withstand any more abuse.
However, Peggy ignored him; she never listened to him.
"Why are you like this!" Peggy exclaimed anxiously.
Dick looked at himself; he was covered in blood and his clothes were tattered.
The fire dragon scales could protect his body, but not his clothes.
"Are you hurt?" Peggy asked again.
He was indeed injured, but:
"It's a minor injury, nothing serious."
"You're lying! You've always lied to me," Peggy said, tears welling in her eyes. "The wound on your chest is obviously so deep!"
"For a knight," Dick said, "this is hardly an injury."
"Idiot!" Peggy yelled.
Then he quickly turned around and pleaded with Harriet, who happened to be walking by:
"Miss, please, heal his wounds!"
Harriet shook her head and said, "I'm not omnipotent. In fact, I've already done emergency treatment for him."
This is true; Dick's wound had long since stopped bleeding, which is why he said it wasn't a wound.
He wouldn't even care as long as the wound didn't get infected.
The pain is still there, but a true knight will never complain about his wounds!
Dick said, "Miss, don't cause Miss Harriet any more trouble. She's put in a lot of effort too; she needs rest, and you still need her follow-up treatment!"
"Fool!"
Peggy clenched her fists, closed her eyes, and shouted.
"Fool!"
Kathy now stepped forward and said to Dick:
"Looks like you didn't die in battle."
Dick became serious: "I'm sorry to disappoint you, Duke Casey."
"I do wish you dead," Casey said, "but I'm not disappointed, and I respect the effort. You're fighting to survive, and I can't say anything derogatory."
Cathy's words made Dick realize that this seemingly young man was more reasonable than he had imagined.
He couldn't help but bow to the other person: "Thank you, sir."
However, Kathy said:
"It's too early to thank me now; you haven't fulfilled your promise yet."
Peggy immediately frowned and jumped in front of Casey:
"Are you trying to back out, you despicable dwarf! Dick has already fulfilled his promise!"
"I'm not short! I'm much taller than you!" Cathy said angrily.
But suddenly his face stiffened, as if he realized something.
Cathy's expression instantly returned to calm. She looked at Peggy calmly, then at Dick.
Then he said slowly, "Remember, Buchanan, my request was for this tower to fall! And yet, it still stands tall!"
Dick couldn't refute it: "That's true! But it's a huge undertaking."
"That's true, so we can discuss it."
Cathy glanced around, stared at the pile of corpses for a long time, then looked back at Dick.
"There are still a lot of work-related documents to process, Riding Tu, come on, tell me what you plan to do."
With that, Casey entered the tower, leaving Dick with only her back view.
At that moment, for the first time, Dick felt that Casey was indeed a duke.
Harriet immediately followed.
Dick was about to bring Peggy inside when he sensed someone tugging at his clothes.
Looking down, it was Peggy.
"What's wrong?"
"that----."
Peggy looked up at him, her eyes sparkling.
Are you really okay?
"Um."
"Does it hurt? Don't lie to me!"
Am I really that much of a liar in your eyes?
"A little," a true knight should not lie.
"Um—and—thank you."
