Chapter 15 Hogwarts?!
Chapter 15 Hogwarts?!
Excruciating pain, darkness, tremors... a cacophony of sounds...
In his drowsy state, Lucas vaguely heard some sounds.
"Frenze! Thea! What are you doing? Carrying humans on your backs! Aren't you ashamed? Are you a mule?!"
"Get out of the way, Bane! They saved my daughter!"
......
The sound of branches breaking, the fierce barking of dogs...
"It's so good to see you, Hagrid. Both children are injured, especially Lucas..."
"The running Gorgons, hurry! Get them to the school hospital immediately..."
......
Shaking, bumping, and noise; painful and uncomfortable; dizzy and unable to wake up.
In the seemingly endless darkness, it felt as if someone was pulling him along, and several warm currents flowed into his body. Lucas felt a little relieved; at least he had started to dream.
He saw his grandfather with his puffed-up beard and glaring eyes, the kind Professor Sprout, the ferocious black dragon, the stinking giant, and then Thea with her bow drawn, shooting herself with an arrow.
This time the shot was quite accurate... he thought amidst the pain.
Then Thea transformed into Ellie, who was holding a giant club and stirring a jumble of things in a huge pot. All sorts of smells emanated from the pot, like the smell of a swill bucket, making people nauseous and unable to bear it.
"This is the magical food you've been waiting for, Lucas!" Ellie laughed, shoving a spoonful of the colorful concoction in front of Lucas. "Eat it, Lucas!"
"No!" Lucas gritted his teeth. "What kind of delicacy is this? Get away from me!"
"Try it, Lucas!" Ellie kept repeating in her ear, "Lucas, open your mouth, ah... open your mouth, Lucas!"
"Lucas! Open your mouth!"
Lucas suddenly opened his eyes, and the previously muffled voice suddenly became clear.
It was a woman: "He suddenly clenched his teeth, and the medicine wouldn't go down... It's really strange."
And then there was Ellie's whispered call: "Lucas, open your mouth! You need to take your medicine!"
Lucas blinked hard, and the scenery in front of him became clear.
He was lying on a hospital bed covered with clean white linen sheets in a room with extremely high ceilings. In front of him was an elderly woman with silver curly hair, dressed in a Victorian-style nurse's uniform, frowning and holding a smoking bottle in her hand.
Ellie was sitting on the edge of the bed, and the anxiety on her face turned into surprise the moment he opened his eyes.
"Ah, you're awake!" the old woman said, her tone stern as if she were scolding. "Then open your mouth! I've never seen a child injured like you still throwing a tantrum in front of a potion!"
Lucas hadn't quite grasped what was happening; his throat was so dry he couldn't make a sound, and he could only nod slightly. The pervasive pain throughout his body made him tremble uncontrollably.
"Now you know what pain is?" The silver-haired old woman's sharp gaze swept over him. "Seven broken ribs, a comminuted fracture of your left arm, a ruptured spleen, extensive contusions all over your body, plus a concussion! Jumping off a black dragon? Fighting a giant in the Forbidden Forest? I've never seen a child who hasn't even started school yet manage to do this much!"
"Those twins were already beyond my expectations, but I never imagined an even more amazing one would come in this year. I guarantee you'll get into Gryffindor and become a major threat to Hogwarts!"
Her voice grew louder and louder, filled with exasperated anger. Lucas wanted to say that he was forced into it, but he was stunned by her harsh words and could only blink weakly.
"We know we were wrong, please, Mrs. Pomfrey..." Ellie tugged at her sleeve, saying anxiously, "Lucas just woke up, please feed him his medicine quickly!"
Mrs. Pomfrey snorted and held the bottle to Lucas's lips. Instantly, a strong, pungent smell, like rotting food, assaulted his nostrils.
Isn't this the smell of swill from my dream? Lucas felt a wave of nausea wash over him.
"This is Bone Spirit!" Madam Pomfrey pushed the bottle forward again. "Drink it! Quickly!"
Lucas held his breath, resignedly opened his mouth, and drank the still-bubbling liquid in one gulp. The medicine slid down his throat, feeling like he had swallowed a ball of fire that burned all the way down.
"Ugh—!" An indescribable, horrible taste exploded from his tongue into his stomach. He felt as if the top of his head was being ripped off, and even the strands of hair on his head were trembling.
"You'd better swallow it, Mr. McGregor," Mrs. Pomfrey snapped. "If you spit it out, you'll have to have another bottle!"
Lucas nodded repeatedly, and Madam Pomfrey finally put the bottle away with satisfaction. Lucas spoke with difficulty, his voice hoarse: "Madam Pomfrey… with such severe injuries, how long will I have to lie here? Two months?"
Mrs. Pomfrey gave him a strange look: "What nonsense are you talking about? How long? Your other injuries have already healed. After drinking the Bone-Regenerating Elixir and resting for one night, you can be discharged tomorrow morning."
"Tomorrow morning?!" Lucas's eyes widened suddenly, his jaw twitching as he grimaced at his injury, but more than anything, he was incredulous. Such a serious injury, and it would be healed overnight?
Is this the world of magic?
"Of course," Madam Pomfrey said calmly and confidently. "As long as you don't move around too much tonight and let the potion work its magic. Of course, it will hurt a lot tonight, you'll have to bear it, that's normal, after all, you have dozens of bones to grow."
Her voice turned stern again: "But I'm warning you, if you do anything dangerous during the summer vacation again, I'll make sure you're in a hospital bed until the start of the semester."
She turned around as she spoke.
"Alright, I need to inform Minerva and Albus, especially Minerva. Merlin, I've never seen her so anxious. This time she asked Pomona to visit your home, and this has happened..."
"Oh, poor Minerva, she must have taken all the blame upon herself. I need to quickly prepare a strong sedative for her..."
Mrs. Pomfrey disappeared before turning back, staring sternly at Ellie: "Miss MacFastie! The patient needs rest. You'd better keep quiet, or I'll throw you out!"
The door closed.
Ellie sprang up from her chair like a spring, tiptoed to the bedside, her violet eyes sparkling: "Great! Lucas! You're finally awake! You were unconscious all day! Mrs. Pomfrey said you almost..."
"Wait, Ellie." Lucas's voice was still a little hoarse, but better than before. He looked out of the high arched window at the deep blue night sky, the vast expanse of stars, the continuous rooftops and the distant spires of towers. He also saw a tabby cat leap lightly across the rooftop and disappear.
"Where is this? Is it some kind of magic hospital?"
"A magical hospital? No!" Ellie's voice suddenly rose. "Lucas, you'd never guess! We're right here at Hogwarts!"
What?
Lucas was stunned, and Ellie immediately covered her mouth, afraid that Mrs. Pomfrey would rush in and throw her out.
Fortunately, there was no noise at the door, and Ellie excitedly lowered her voice.
"The forest we jumped into is the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts! And the castle on that cliff we see is Hogwarts! We're in the Hogwarts infirmary right now!"
