Chapter 426 The Return Journey
Chapter 426 The Return Journey
Chapter 426 The Return Journey
Siren packed his suitcase and waited in the crowded hallway with Harry, Hermione, and the other fourth-year students for the carriage to take them to Hogsmeade Station.
Outside the castle, Hagrid was helping Maxim harness two of his divine horses... It seemed they had made up again.
"Silon!"
At this moment, Hibiscus hurriedly climbed the stone steps and entered the castle.
She walked up to Xilun, said nothing, and simply stuffed a delicate wallet into Xilun's hand.
"Ms. Maxim said you made a particularly wonderful wand, and she is very pleased."
"It's my pleasure," Siron said, while curiously squeezing the wallet in his hand. He could feel that it was full of Gallon, and quite a lot of it.
As expected of the wealthy Principal Beauxbatons, there was even an extra reward.
"Ms. Maxim is too kind, but I can't accept this," Celen said with a smile. "After all, she has already paid."
"What are you talking about?" Hibiscus paused for a moment, then looked at Siron with a puzzled expression and asked.
"Oh, this?" Siren handed the wallet to Fleur. "Didn't Ms. Maxim ask you to give it to me?"
"Oh, no, this is mine," Fleur said. "I've already asked. It contains thirty Galleons and a strand of my hair. I hope you can make one of those special wands for me too."
"Wait, yours?" Siren was also stunned. "But don't you already have a wand?"
"I noticed that Ms. Maxim really liked it. I wanted to see what was so special about it, since it wasn't expensive anyway," said Furong, glancing at the venue outside.
By this time, all the divine horses had been harnessed, and all the Beauxbatons students had boarded the carriages, leaving only Madam Maxim outside to say goodbye to the Hogwarts professors.
"Sorry, I have to go now. Just send it to Beauxbatons." After saying that, Fleur hurriedly ran out of the castle and got into the blue carriage.
"Wait a moment……"
Just as Xilun was about to say something, he saw that Madam Maxim had also boarded the vehicle. The twelve divine horses spread their enormous wings and carried everyone into the sky.
By the time Xilun ran over, he could only see a faint, indistinct silhouette on the horizon.
"Oh, Mr. Ollivander?" Dumbledore looked over and asked, "Are you here to say goodbye to Beauxbatons' friends? They've already gone back."
"No, no, it's nothing." Xiren shook his head and turned back to the foyer.
He opened his wallet, which indeed contained a bunch of Galleons, as well as a long, thin strand of hair that shimmered with silver light.
The hair of a mixed-race Veela.
Upon seeing this thing, Xilun felt a headache coming on.
He spent three whole days selecting dozens, even nearly a hundred, different materials for the staff, and wrote to his grandfather Garrick before finally finding a staff that could perfectly fit the hair of the half-giant.
The troubles he encountered still make him feel irritated when he thinks about them now.
"Sirlen, you seem a bit preoccupied," Harry asked curiously. "Another order? Shouldn't you be happy? My uncle always celebrates at home whenever he gets a new drilling rig order..."
Harry didn't say one more thing: these kinds of celebrations usually had nothing to do with him.
But it doesn't matter anymore, because starting this holiday, he can live with Sirius Black and leave the Dursleys for good.
He couldn't help but feel happy whenever he thought about this.
"If I could, I really wouldn't want to take this order," Xiren sighed.
As everyone knows, Veelas are much more demanding than giants, let alone Veelas who are half-breed with wizards. You can imagine that this is definitely not an easy job.
There was nothing he could do; Furong dropped her things and ran away, leaving him no chance to refuse.
Soon, the carriage arrived and took them to Hogsmeade Station, where the familiar red steam train was parked nearby.
Because they arrived late, they walked all the way to the back of the train before finally finding an empty carriage and getting a seat.
Harry put the owl cage on the luggage rack, while Hedwig was dozing off with her head tucked under her wing.
"By the way, is it really okay for you to leave your cats at school?" Harry asked, remembering that both Sheryl and Hermione had a cat, but they hadn't brought it back with them.
"Don't worry, they'll be perfectly fine in the Forbidden Forest," Siron said. "It's practically Tom's second home, and Hagrid has promised to help take care of them."
"That's good." Harry nodded.
The train carried them south, with wisps of steam occasionally rising from the locomotive. They chatted, and the conversation quickly turned to the Weasley family.
"I wonder how Percy is doing," Harry said worriedly.
In recent days, he has written many letters to Ron, but has not received a single reply.
Perhaps they were too busy, or perhaps there wasn't a suitable owl around.
He knew that the Weasleys had an old owl named Errol, who was very old and would collapse on the table from exhaustion every time he came to Hogwarts to deliver mail.
"We all know that Percy could never be a Death Eater," he said, but there was a hint of worry in his voice.
"That's right, Percy is definitely not a Death Eater," Hermione said, and unlike Harry, she seemed to trust Percy a lot.
"He has twelve certificates, how could he be a Death Eater... I mean, Death Eaters certainly don't have such outstanding results, right?"
"That's not necessarily true." Siren shook his head and said, "Barty Crouch's son, Barty Crouch Jr., was a Death Eater who tortured the Longbottoms with the Cruciatus Curse along with Bellatrix Lestrange.
"But while in school, Barty Crouch Jr. also passed all twelve OWL exams with excellent grades and earned all the certificates by seventh grade."
"Really?" Hermione asked, as if she had heard something terrible. "But how could that be?"
“Nothing is impossible,” Sirius said. “Death Eaters are bad, but not easy to catch. In fact, when they were at Hogwarts, almost all of them were among the best in their year, which is why Voldemort took notice of them and recruited them.”
Hermione was so surprised that she sat there for a long time, unable to come to her senses.
He had always assumed that Death Eaters were all like the Slytherin students, such as Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy. To be honest, their grades weren't that great; even Malfoy, the top student, was only about the same as Harry. In fact, aside from potions, his grades were worse than Harry's.
