Chapter 12 Countless Exits
Chapter 12 Countless Exits
What does it feel like to have your body split in two?
Lin Yuan didn't know this before, but he does now.
Outside the mirror, his left half of body was corrupted by a curse and became a puppet of the performers, but after entering the mirror world, it became his right half of body.
Faced with the sudden appearance of what appeared to be a ghost, his right side of his body also began to sing along uncontrollably. However, only the right half of his body was singing, while his left half remained under his control.
The coordination of the limbs is secondary; the feeling of half-opening the mouth and half-tongue influencing the other half of the mouth and half-tongue is simply maddening!
"Die my ass! Get the hell out of here! Even if I die, I'd rather be a ghost slave!"
Using the remaining half of his normal body, Lin Yuan suddenly bit his tongue.
The excruciating pain, accompanied by the smell of blood, subsided considerably, but the pain still made Lin Yuan cover his mouth and bend over in agony.
Fresh blood kept flowing from the corner of his mouth.
"Who said biting your tongue can lead to suicide?"
Lin Yuan cursed inwardly. He knew this principle, but he had no other choice. He couldn't very well strangle himself to death, could he?
That's even less reliable!
Fortunately, this move temporarily freed him from control. The performer standing at the door stopped singing and just stood there quietly, staring at Lin Yuan with a strange look.
Lin Yuan then noticed that the "himself" opposite him had not entered the room, but was standing outside the door.
He can't get in?
Lin Yuan keenly noticed this and breathed a slight sigh of relief. He was about to retreat the way he came when the entrance hall outside the mirror was completely covered by those purplish-brown veins.
It doesn't look like the entryway of a home at all; it's more like the stomach of some kind of giant beast, making one feel nauseous!
"I'll risk it! It's just a curse, not real control over this ghost. It's better than becoming a ghost slave or food!"
Lin Yuan dared not gamble on how long "himself" would remain quiet.
But he had a feeling that if this happened again, the stimulation from biting his tongue wouldn't be enough to achieve the same effect.
This apartment has three bedrooms, one living room, two bathrooms, and one kitchen.
Another "self" stands at the door of the master bedroom, with the farthest door being the kitchen and the farthest window being the large balcony window of the living room.
Lin Yuan ran straight towards the kitchen.
The kitchen had a sliding door, which was half-open, and behind that door was complete darkness, giving Lin Yuan a feeling of great terror.
Lin Yuan rushed forward, but then suddenly stopped.
It wasn't that he was afraid of death that caused him to do this, but rather that he noticed something strange about the sliding door.
The sliding door was made of patterned glass, making it difficult to see a person's reflection, but it could vaguely reflect light. When Lin Yuan rushed closer, he discovered that there wasn't even a trace of his own reflection on the glass door, which should have been reflective.
"The world in the mirror is very small, so small that it is only a room connected by mirrors, and the real passage to other spaces should also be in the mirrors."
There are no other mirrors in the bedroom, but who says this kind of glass isn't a mirror?
To confirm his suspicions, Lin Yuan went to the television after confirming that "himself" in the bedroom had not come out or was no longer singing.
Sure enough, on the dark screen of the television, the reflections of the sofa and coffee table opposite could be faintly seen, but there was no trace of Lin Yuan.
"Give it a try!"
Lin Yuan gritted his teeth and reached for the television screen.
There was no sensation of touching a hard object; instead, there was a cold, damp feeling. On the television screen, ripples appeared, spreading outwards from the point where Lin Yuan's arm touched the object.
There is a play!
Lin Yuan's eyes lit up, and he immediately went inside.
Unexpectedly, after entering the television screen, it did not crawl out of the other television screen.
The idea of cosplaying as a male version of Sadako thus failed.
Instead, Lin Yuan found himself in a strange space.
There was nothingness all around him, except for the television screen beneath his feet, which he had just crawled into.
Around him were countless mirrors of different sizes.
These mirrors range in size from the palm of a hand to the size of a fingernail, but their number is virtually endless.
"Are they exporting every mirror in the world?"
Lin Yuan felt a chill run down his spine. Upon closer inspection, he could see what was behind these mirrors.
Clearly, each mirror here corresponds to a space.
This is exactly the effect of the "mirror travel" ability, but the risk is still too great.
One of them is that a real ghost is hidden in the mirrored space.
His arrival would likely attract the other party's attention, and then they would follow the curse to cause trouble for him.
Another issue is that there are too many exits in the mirrored space.
Without an anchor point, one can only rely on luck and one's own judgment to choose the exit.
Moreover, this so-called mirrored space does not seem to be mediated solely by reflective mirrors.
Through a small window, about the size of a palm, in the upper left corner, Lin Yuan could clearly see the seawater churning all around, and in the sky directly above, there were not only seagulls, but also airplanes flying by.
This place is clearly on the sea.
In other words, anything that can reflect light, whether it's a man-made mirror or a natural surface like water that can reflect images, is an exit point for mirror space.
This means Lin Yuan has even more choices to make.
"If I choose the wrong one, will it teleport me to a place a hundred and eight thousand miles away? Perhaps, I should use supernatural power to mark and anchor the medium in order to accurately traverse space?"
Lin Yuan was speechless.
Suddenly, the opera singing in his mind grew louder. He looked down sharply and saw "himself" standing outside the television screen watching him.
"We can't wait any longer!"
Lin Yuan's expression was solemn. He looked up and scanned the surroundings, finally fixing his gaze on a mirrored space that depicted a street, and then he went straight inside.
The mirror, which was only the size of four fingers, seemed to be selected and rapidly magnified when Lin Yuan touched it, eventually completely enveloping him and causing him to disappear from this space.
next moment.
The eerie singing voice resounded throughout the space, and "Lin Yuan's" head, neck, and shoulders slowly floated up from the television screen that Lin Yuan had been standing on.
The eyes of that face, half adorned with the makeup of an opera singer and half in a normal state, swept across the dense array of mirrors with an eerie gaze, quickly settling on the mirror Lin Yuan had chosen and entered. The operatic tone turned mournful:
"I am willing, but you are indifferent..."
