Chapter 269 – Cooperation – Part 2.

After passing through the fortified gate, Porai found herself on the other side of it, finding herself in front of the dungeon entrance which was noticeable remodeled.

It was still made out of bricks, buts its size and overall structure was completely changed, making it far more durable.

Porai went through the massive dungeon entrance... And quickly encountered a golem creature, which resembles the small monkey.

"Huh. New model Thauma?" – asked Porai as the monkey like golem with 2 eye like gems, with each eye being different not only in size but also shape as well.

The monkey golem waves its hand, telling Porai to fallow it, which the vampire did without thinking much about, as they began exploring the dungeon.

"!"

"Wow... So many golems so quickly?" – asked Porai as after walking some time, making some distance away from the exit, the vampire already encountered a large number of golems in her path.

"So.... Quickly question."

"Is the whole dungeon filled to the brim with monster right now?"

The monkey golem put its thumb up.

"Uhu.... Kind of guess why."

"Anyway, is the shortcut the same? Or did you changed it?" – asked Porai as the monkey golem started leading the woman through the monster filled corridors, before then arriving at the hidden passage that the woman and the golem used, to quickly reaches the deepest dungeon floor, which was also filled to the brim with golems.

(He is really at it...) – thought Porai as she traversed the golem filled floor... Before then reaching the finally boss room... Which upon entering was completely empty.

But even so, the woman just walked thought the massive spacious room, without putting up any guard whatsoever, just walking in peace as she reached at the door at the other end of the room and opened it up, and finding herself in pathway that splits up into several paths.

However, before Porai could take one of them, she was approached by Thauma in its worker golem form, which had several arms, legs and eyes.

"Huh. New body?" – asked Porai as she realized that Thauma worker body looked somewhat similar, but at the same time it was completely different golem.

{"Yes."} – replied the golem after taking out a notebook and a pen from its pocket space, which it then used to make a reply.

{"Sorry for not welcoming you earlier. Was doing experiment just now when I spotted you."}

"No problem." – said Porai as she walked up to Thauma.

"..."

"4 months.... Eh?"

"Long time to see you bastard."

"How have you been?"

"Doing okay?"

{"So far so good."}

{"I haven’t really run into any accidents or any real problem, so I think everything is fine."}

{"What about you?"}

"Welp.... Busy like hell ever since I stopped being the ’prisoner’."

"But I finally managed to make some time what not, so I should able to move."

"..."

"But again... I wouldn’t be surprised if I were to suddenly be stuck in my workshop, doing stuff."

"But hey. I’m here doing job, so technically speaking I’m working right now."

"By the way, Ariava told you what is going on or not?"

{"Somewhat."}

{"She told me that the outside world is beyond messy and that it may take her noticeable amount of time before she could even have time to come back to the dungeon."}

{"And she told me that she will be sending you my way."}

"Well, to keep you a company, but at the same time, help you out in your own growth." – said Porai.

"Our alliance is somewhat now know, but not fully. Simple put, they think that we are just working with each other."

"But at the same time, the empire, specifically vampires, they want to know the relationship between you and Ariava, while also trying to find out the true goal behind Ariava’s actions... Although, I’m not planning on telling them the truth, since Ariava would straight up fuck me to death and in not good way."

"And there is also fact that they wouldn’t believe the truth."

"Anyway, Ariava is doing the job out there, and for the time being you will have to deal with me."

"I’m supposed to be much later according to the plan that we had made... But hey. I’m here."

"If that is alright?"

{"Sounds good."}

{"By the way. I’ve finished those rooms that you and Ariava requested."} – written Thauma as it started walking, with Porai fallowing behind the golem, who then led the vampire right to her own personal room.

"Huh.... Nice." – said Porai as she inspected her room that was somewhat well made and had good quality furniture.

"Where did you got these by the way? Did you made them by hand?" – asked Porai as she inspected her bed.

{"No. Ariava bought them and gave them to me. She was also the one that designed the rooms."}

"Interesting." – said Porai as she inspected her own room.

{"The meals or ingredients for it will be provided after you tell me when you want them to be prepared. Please note that manifesting objects with dungeon core takes time."}

{"There is kitchen prepared as well as bath and other stuff that you and Ariava requested me to add once the dungeon has expanded."}

"Nice, nice, nice... I will look though it later." – said Porai as she left the room.

"The first visit is only a short one, since I need to ’check’ things out, before then making preparations, blah, blah, blah... Simply put, I will come back with some of my stuff later on."

"Like I’ve said before, Korwan still don’t trust you."

"And there is also fact that he may somewhat suspect me."

{"?"}

{"But aren’t we allies now that are at peace?"}

{"Few months went by and I haven’t done anything bad either."}

"He is just being carefully, and I’m not blaming him. If I was in his situation and lacked that much information, I would had done the same."

"Anyway, you alright mate?"

"I mean, your mom suddenly just left and who knows when she will return."

{"I’m fine. The fact that I know that she will return is more than enough."}

(Damn. You loyal.) – thought Porai.

"Anyway.... So how things had progress with the dungeon and your growth?" – asked Porai as she and Thauma started wandering through the dungeon’s private section.

{"Prety good... And weird."}

"?"

"Didn’t you said that there were no problems?"

{"Well. It is more about getting used the current situation."}

{"I get that I don’t need to hold back and can be completely reckless in order to speed up the growth of the dungeon as much as possible, creating as many monsters as I could... But still, it is weird."}

"Ah. I get it."

"You were under stress non stop for freaking years, but now that the things finally calmed down, you can’t calm down yourself?" – asked Porai as the duo arrived at the private main workshop, which was noticeable much more upgraded.

{"Pretty much, if I were to say so myself."}

{"The peace.... It is beyond overwhelming good... To the point it kind of feels like a trap."}

"Even after 4 months of peace, you still haven’t calmed down, really?"

{"Nope."}

"..."

"But you are using it without problem, I mean the time, right?"

{"Yes."}

{"It was weird. Abnormal and too quiet."}

{"But I’ve had been using it correctly."}

(Well, I say that, but things were.... I don’t know how to really say it, if I’m being honest.) – thought Thauma.

(I mean... I have it!)

(The peace!)

(But.... It... I just can’t adjust to it?)

(Like.... I honestly don’t know what to do.)

(I’m still stressed like living hell, expecting the war to possible happened at any moment again... But then again, the bound contract is there as well, which makes things confusing, since I know that the peace is THERE!)

(Heck... I’ve been doing a risky management in order to speed up the growth of the dungeon as much as possible.... AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AT ALL!)

Despise finally obtaining "peace", Thauma was nowhere near calm.

If anything, it was still filled with stress.

Worries.

Fear.

Despair.

Anger.

Stress.

It were still somewhat present in Thauma’s head, making the adjusting to this new era for golem bit.... Complicated in nature per say.

Years of negative emotions filling Thauma’s head had obviously negative effects on the golem.

Thauma is adjusting somewhat, but at the same time, it has hard time dealing with these adjustment mentality.

The peace is the thing it needed to somewhat heal up that "scar" caused by these negative emotions, but it will obviously not be quick.

(But still, even though I have somewhat... Weird time adjusting to this "peace", I can’t really deny the fact that I had been working way better now.) – thought Thauma as it approached the table filled with several tools and parts.

(I don’t need to rush specific researches, allowing me to take my time doing the much longer researches with ease, since there is no rush.)

(And this alone has proven some of the benefits of "peace".)

"By the way, you said something about doing experiment before coming to greet me." – said Porai as she approached Thauma who was working on something.

"What were you exactly working at?" – asked Porai as Thauma turned around, and its human sized arm was holding a pistole.

{"Guns."}

{"I’ve been trying to improve my gun knowledge."}

{"Which is one of the things that I wanted to ask you to help me out in."}

{"How much do you know about making guns?"}
