Chapter 2156 - 61: Final Serenity (Part 2)
In the northwest of Terra, numerous scattered city-states governed by Bloodline Nobility, supported by forces from the Tranquil Sea Nations, Setar Empire, Steep Ridge Fortress, Hall of Ten Thousand Spirits, and even Fifth Energy Level Great Magical Beasts, intertwine here, forming a collective that is both contradictory and unified: the Fortress States.
This is a small gathering happening within the Fortress States.
Najie City.
This city is governed by Nobles of the Bloodline of Snow Light Moths, with a population of around eighty thousand. It is situated at the southern boundary between the Dark Mountain Range and the wild forest clusters. Under its jurisdiction is a river port leading to the Tranquil Sea and several underground breeding grounds, making it one of the most affluent and peaceful among the Fortress States.
Novalmont Tower, the highest point overlooking the mountain ridge and Inner Sea, is the Neige Family’s stronghold.
The conference room at the top of the tower, which should be clean and bright, is filled and surrounded by smoke; all kinds of food residues are casually discarded on the carpet worth a fortune. Various documents and crystal plates are randomly placed around, and liquor flows freely on the table.
A few ’big men’ and ’beauties’ with obvious non-human features lie or recline in different ungainly postures within the meeting room, each looking unbearably agitated or completely disheartened.
Suddenly, one man, entirely black yet giving off a sense of deep shadow, roared in anger and slammed the table, exclaiming, "All you know is how to pretend to be clueless. Humans are on the brink of achieving The Creator, yet here we are discussing the future of our race for several months, still tangled in chaos!"
The speaker is none other than the King of Shadow Wraiths, one of the lords governing the southwestern Dark Mountain Range in the Titan Domain.
The King of Behemoths, transformed into human form, nearly gnashing his teeth, said, "You lot keep reveling in drinking and eating, indifferent to the need to maintain the independence of our civilization!"
"Don’t shout."
On the other side, a mature beauty with long green hair and small deer antlers lay invitingly among the bottles. Her face and sleek, full snow-white body are almost submerged in liquor, with only a few golden leaves covering parts, exuding mature allure.
Yet her tone is remarkably harsh: "As though you’re the only one worried about the future. What’s the point of yelling all the time? Shut up, let everyone quiet down for a moment!"
"Moreover, the situation is still unclear. If we don’t watch and wait, how can we stand victorious in the end?"
"How long have we been quiet, Wilderness?" Yet the King of Shadow Wraiths remains undaunted, with a cold sneer: "Isn’t it obvious to everyone already? In recent five years, changes have occurred more than they did in the past five hundred years!"
"The war about to be instigated will determine the course of future history and decide who will obtain the Perpetual Motion Machine to become the master of endless time to come!"
The lady known as Wilderness is one of the three masters of Titan Beasts in the Dark Mountain Range, Everchanging One, River of Life, a spiritual ’Magical Beast’ that once flowed through the entire world’s ecosystem without a fixed physical form... or rather, ’Alien Form’.
Her true form is a pulsation of life; theoretically, she shouldn’t initially have a physical body. Instead, she resembles a totem of life, an elemental spirit. But under Star God’s enlightenment, she chose her image, morphing into the form similar to ordinary beasts but stronger and special, possessing various supernatural abilities.
This form was called [Beastmaster] by ancient civilizations, also known as the oldest [Beast God]. They coexisted with civilization, guided life to grow strong, creating civilization, overcoming hardships, repelling natural disasters. Despite occasional friction, conflicts, and even civil wars, ultimately, they integrated entirely into civilization, until the civilization’s end.
At the Moment of The End, all Beastmasters sacrificed themselves, merging their Aether essence with civilization’s Spark, following Star God’s Beacon, traversing space-time to Terra.
Wilderness should have thrived, but instead met Calamity of Heavenly Fall—Wilderness transformed into human form, guiding a group of humans to survive under the calamity, becoming the ancestors of Fortress States Humans.
However, Terra and the Star God’s promised Cradle were not identical. Wilderness did not obtain her own [Ring World section], but had to coexist with humans, for this land belonged to humans. Wilderness couldn’t release the ’Spark’ of her native civilization within herself and could only use the ’Bloodline’ method to merge her civilization’s strength with humans, constructing the Fortress States on the land of Wilderness, creating the Bloodline Nobility city-state system.
In some sense, Wilderness has already achieved her goal—Sublimation Bloodline humans are not pure Terra Humans (in fact, besides Embrace Light, Terra now has essentially no pure humans, with pure humans only a part of Embrace Light), but hybrids of her native civilization and humans.
Thus, she does not mind humans’ growth.
Unless humans abandon their bloodline.
Just like the Arcane Pathway, relying not on bloodlines but practicing to shape internal ’Sublimation Structure’—this is the reason Wilderness has come here, to meet other powerful Magical Beast Alien Forms, discussing future plans.
Nonetheless, even as her basis of standing is gradually eroded by the Arcane Pathway, Lady Wilderness remains unfazed, instead responding disdainfully to the King of Shadow Wraiths: "See, getting impatient again."
