Chapter 292 292: Grow on trees?
Chapter 292 292: Grow on trees?
"!!!"
"…Mortal, what the fuck was that again?"
Aghal spoke…for the first time in hundreds of years. His voice cracked.
He…didn't believe what this fucker had just asked. A being of the same level as him?
"Do…you think they grow on trees that I pluck them and give them to you?"
He couldn't help but speak, too stunned to even curse Malrik.
A cold sweat dripped down Malrik's face as he observed his reaction. But…the deathly aura behind him deterred any loose thoughts. He gulped and took a long breath.
"Y-Your Eminence, my request is just that. A body…of a being on the same level as you."
Malrik…albeit with a bit of difficulty. Inwardly, he was scared shitless.
"That…granddaughter of mine! Just who the fuck did she tangle herself with!? This guy—no, this being…is no less scary than the god speaking. In fact, this guy is even scarier!"
He couldn't help but lament and curse his fate…he was stuck between two powerful beings. Although the gods and beings with similar power couldn't enter the mortal realm, they could…send their low-level subordinates.
Those 'low-level' beings were more than enough to flatten their worlds. That was the main reason he was scared to offend such a being.
And now, even their location was revealed!
"Mortal…do you realize who you are talking to? A fart of mine could end your 99 generations, and yet you still dare make such requests?"
From the screen, Aghal's low but rageful voice echoed. Hearing this, Rahu frowned slightly.
"It seems that much was still not enough. This guy is more…adamant than I gave him credit for."
Rahu spoke inwardly, but soon his lips curled slightly.
His lips moved…uttering words that only Malrik could hear. The more he spoke, the more astonished Malrik became.
Then, finally, a second later, he turned his head.
"Lord God…this lowly one has nothing but regrets seeing your refusal. I guess I'll have to contact other lords and see if this unlucky one could get some crumbs."
Malrik shook his head in utter defeat…almost on the verge of crying. Rahu silently gave a thumbs up at his acting.
Honestly, this guy did have some real talent in him.
…
From behind the screen, Aghal finally panicked when he heard those words.
"Shit…this guy is serious! Although I do know the location of this ant, by the time I send my army over…that orb would have probably been taken by some other bastard! The Supreme Lord will eat me alive if something like that happens!"
He paced back and forth, not because he couldn't think. His mind was far above mortals; it could process and produce information so fast that it would leave them in the dust.
"Hmm…should I really go for it? But the risks…they are as dangerous as this orb."
Aghal spoke…his ten heads twitched slightly, acknowledging his situation.
But soon, his eyes hardened.
"No! The risks are nothing if I could get my hands on that orb! Let alone this plane…I could even rule the entire Demonic Planes!"
The more he thought…the more it made sense. Taking a deep breath, he once again sensed the orb, trying to check its authenticity.
But sensing the pure dimensional energy from its aura alone…he was sure of it.
"Just…how did this supreme treasure end up in some low-level mortal plane? The heavens are truly unfair!"
He couldn't help but complain. "But then again, the entire Celestial Realm would be dragged into a massive cosmic war if this thing appears…I'd better seize it right now."
Aghal came to a final decision. Looking at the screen, he opened his mouth to speak.
…
"Mortal…no need for that. This Eminence will be back in a few minutes."
Just as those words echoed…silence fell all over. Malrik blinked. In the next moment, his jaw hit the ground!
"N-No way…that guy really agreed to this absurd request!"
He fell on his butt…his entire body trembling. Rahu looked at all of this calmly. He shook his head when he saw Malrik's reaction.
Well, he couldn't really blame him. From this ordeal, he had learned two things. From that far…Aghal hadn't sensed him.
His new ability…Dimensional Overlap was a very unique ability. It wasn't an offensive or a defensive one.
It had just one job, that is…overlap.
The space around Rahu was twisted and turned to the extreme, hiding his aura and presence behind…millions of layers of space. In simple words, his presence was hidden beneath millions of overlapping layers of space.
And no, he wasn't hiding behind space. Those blankets of space had been turned into small dimensions…millions of small dimensions.
"Mhm, this is really a useful skill. Instead of just hiding in a single strong dimension, it's far safer to hide like this."
Rahu chuckled, but then his expression slowly turned serious as he looked at the screen. His divine gaze penetrated the screen and…traveled millions of miles before…halting.
He withdrew his gaze and sighed. "It's way too far. My gaze could sense an entire plane, but it couldn't even catch a glimpse of the Celestial Expanse."
He shook his head…the second thing he realized was…his dimensional core wasn't really a secret in the upper echelons of the Celestial Expanse. And judging by that being's reaction, it was safe to say…this wasn't good news.
Aside from storing dimensions…it seemed there was something more to it. Something…he hadn't figured out yet.
The stakes in the Celestial Realm were no joke. The sheer size of the expanse had really opened his eyes.
But despite all this…his lips curled.
"Ah man, I'm really tempted to enter the Celestial Expanse right now."
It should be the other way around—they should be the ones to worry if Rahu decided to invade them.
Malrik kept quiet as he observed Rahu. Despite his thoughts, there was not a single expression on his face.
Before he could continue…the screen began trembling.
Malrik snapped his head. From behind the screen, Aghal's voice echoed.
"Mortal…here is the thing you asked for. Now, give me that orb."
But unlike his earlier sky-high, arrogant voice, it now seemed…tired.
"This guy sure is fast…no wonder he was the strongest we could contact."
Even Rahu was surprised by his efficiency, and before the excited gazes—
From the screen…a huge body materialized!
