Chapter 663: It’s settled then
“I guess even Maiya disapproves of that suggestion, granddaughter,” Rowena said with a chuckle while Stacey caught hold of Maiya to stop her from hitting her.
“You didn’t let me finish,” Stacey said with a sigh before continuing, “Travelling with us, OR if you should accept her feelings and make her a member of your harem.”
“I prefer this idea,” Aphrodite stated while Maiya, who was still being held by Stacey, nodded in agreement.
“It’s worth considering, babe, or are you really going to consider sending Tephe away?” Rowena asked while giving Adam a serious look.
“It’s not like I want to send her away, but you know my feelings on this topic,” Adam said with a sigh.
Maiya managed to struggle free from Stacey’s grip before flying over to Adam, where she started to hit him with one of her fins.
“I think Maiya is trying to tell you to grow a pair,” Aphrodite said with a chuckle before continuing in a serious tone, “You need to get over this whole idea of her still being a child, already, Adam.
Need I remind you that she's over five hundred years old and that just a few days ago she crushed an unhatched phoenix egg under her paw…”
“Something we still need to have a discussion about,” Revi interrupted with a frown.
Aphrodite ignored the interruption as she continued, “The only reason you see her as innocent and immature in the first place is that you and she are from the same timeline, while we know the Tphe from this timeline, a Tephe we are actually starting to see hints of through her actions.”
“I have to say that I agree with Aphrodite on this, babe,” Rowena replied.
“I’m also in agreement with Aphrodite,” Revi replied before continuing as she looked up at Adam. “I had always planned to share you with Tephe, ever since she told me that she had feelings for you all those years ago and soon after, when I also fell for you.”
“You're all really so keen on her joining?” Adam asked.
“Of course, you idiot,” Stacey replied while hitting his shoulder, along with Maiya slapping him again before deciding to settle down on his head.
“I’ve been telling you for a while that she would be a good addition because of her identity as the white dragon, and the fact that she seems to have evolved into something even stronger, which I might add I have never heard of, is all the more reason,” Rowena added.
“I might not be a member of your harem,” Emma began, “But doesn’t her hysteria from a few moments ago prove to you how she truly feels and, perhaps more importantly, how much you mean to her?”
“Honestly, having both a dragon and a phoenix recognised as your lovers and future wives would be a huge boon for your reputation and standing in the universe. No one has ever dated, let alone married, both simultaneously.” Elemence remarked.
“It’s probably another reason why that idiot Narven keeps trying to woo me, since he already has multiple dragon lovers,” Revi stated in disgust.
“Yeah, but a dragon dating a dragon is nothing special, even phoenixes dating dragons are not unheard of, since the dragon race is really the only race you regularly interact with,” Aphrodite remarked before looking at Adam and saying seriously, “But if you do this, you need to be certain. As Elemence said, no one has ever dated, let alone married, both a dragon and a phoenix.
For a humanoid to date and, in the future, possibly marry two of the most powerful and ancient races in the universe is something people wont be able to ignore. And while you have already attracted the attention of the rich and powerful as the pilot of the black night, they still don’t know your identity.
Doing this will make you, Adam Spencer, a major player in the universe.”
“Yeah, the only thing that would make an even bigger splash than dating or marrying both Empress Revi and White Dragon Tephe is if you did so with someone no one had ever considered dating before, like maybe the Demon King or a Levithen like Maiya here,” Eri said jokingly as she looked at Maiya, who tilted her head sideways.
“Why do I get the feeling Eri just planted a scary flag?” Emma mumbled.
“What was that?” Aphrodite, who was standing next to Emma, asked.
“Oh, nothing,” Emma replied while shaking her head.
“Mmm,” Aphrodite replied, though her eyes seemed to glow slightly pink and sparkle after Emma looked away.
Adam didn’t reply immediately and instead silently considered what they had all said.
Seeing this, Elemence decided to ask, “Any idea who this White was that she mentioned?”
Most of them shook their heads except for Revi, who said, “If White is a name as Tephe seemed to imply, then she might have been talking about the first-ever dragon to exist.”
“How do you know that?” Elemence asked in surprise.
“White is mentioned in my family's old texts,” Revi replied.
“Ah,” Elemence said in understanding.
“The first ever dragon?” Rowena asked before adding, “I knew from history that the first dragon was a white dragon like Tephe; however, I had no idea its name was actually White.”
“How is it possible that the first-ever dragon told her so?” Aphrodite asked with a frown before adding, “He passed away millennia ago.”
“I don’t know,” Revi replied while shaking her head.
“I guess all we can do is wait until she wakes up and ask her,” Rowena stated and as if on cue, Tephe suddenly groaned before opening her eyes while asking in a groggy tone, “What happened?”
“I was forced to instruct one of my androids to disable you lest you destroy me,” Spector said as it replied before any of the others could.
“Lest I destroy you?” Tephe repeated in the same groggy tone before asking in confusion, “What?”
“Don’t you remember getting angry at me?” Revi asked as Maiya left Adam’s head and happily flew down to land on Tephe’s.
“Angry at you?” Tephe repeated until she suddenly seemed to remember, because tears filled her eyes again as she clutched Revi and said, ”Please, Revi, you can’t take him from me, don’t take Adam away from me.”
“Silly girl,” Revi replied as she pulled Tephe into a hug before asking, “What would possibly make you think I would take him away from you?”
Tephe didn’t respond and instead buried her head into Revi’s chest.
As Adam looked at Tephe snuggling into Revi’s chest, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for allowing this to happen.
While it was true he had spoken to his lovers about why he had avoided Tephe’s advances, he’d never really broached the subject with Tephe herself, something he only now realised he should have done.
“I’m such a coward,” Adam said more to himself than anyone else.
“Babe?” Rowena asked as everyone except Rephe looked at him in confusion.
Adam didn’t respond and instead crouched down next to Tephe and Revi, causing Maiya to tilt her head at him.
“Tephe,” Adam said softly before asking, “Do you understand why I’ve never reciprocated your advances?”
Tephe pulled away from Revi before turning to look at Adam and after sniffing slightly, she nodded and said, “Aphrodite explained it to me, because of my sheltered upbringing, you see me more as a sister.”
“She told you that?” Adam asked in surprise before looking at Aphrodite, who simply smiled back at him.
As he turned back to look at Tephe, Adam said, “She’s not wrong and I will admit that I often forget how much older than me you actually are.”
“Rude,” Rowena said playfully.
“Shh,” Stacey hissed as she glared at her grandmother.
“However, that’s still no excuse for the cowardice I have shown by not speaking to you directly about this, though if I had spoken to you, I may never have seen and realised how deep your feelings are for me,” Adam said as he continued.
“I won’t lie to you and say I feel the same right now, but I also won’t lie and claim that I don’t find you incredibly attractive and that I don’t care for you as much as Stacey, Lorelie and Rowena, because I do.”
Tephe couldn’t help but blush and smile happily after hearing Adam’s words before asking hopefully, “Does that mean…”
“No, or at least not yet,” Adam interrupted her before continuing. “I’m not going to pretend that I have fallen for you like my other girlfriends, as that wouldn’t be fair to you. However, since I’ve already admitted to being attracted to you, I am happy to go out on dates with you and see how things progress.”
Tephe’s expression, which had originally fallen after hearing Adam’s no, suddenly brightened again as she nodded happily and said, “Okay.”
“It’s settled then,” Revi suddenly said before announcing, “The two of us will have a double date with Adam.”
