Chapter 516 - Conditions
Chapter 516 - Conditions
"So, what are you planning to do with these younglings? Your true lifespan has already been depleted. Even if you intend to possess her body, it wouldn't work. Both you and her would disintegrate," Raisho said casually.
For a split second, everything went still.
"What?" Leyvi and Anda reacted at the same time.
"Alita! Is that true?" Leyvi's voice sharpened, his anger rising almost instantly.
After everything he had gone through, Leyvi no longer trusted easily. He had already been on guard the moment they entered this place. If anything happened, Senior Lapin would intervene immediately.
But this… this was something else entirely.
If Alita had any schemes, he had only expected something like her targeting the Spiritual Vein and fleeing.
Possession had never even crossed his mind. And now that it had, his expression darkened. He didn't care how tragic her past was. If she dared to touch Anda, he would not let her off.
"Senior Raisho, please don't say things that would cause such misunderstandings!" Alita protested, clearly flustered. "Why would I do something that I already know is guaranteed to fail?"
"Hahaha! I'm just joking. Don't be so tense," Raisho laughed, completely unfazed.
Leyvi and Anda both went silent. That was… a joke?
They had just gotten angry for nothing. For a moment, neither of them knew what to say. Was this really how a godlike existence behaved?
"About them…" Alita spoke again, her tone quieter now as she turned toward Leyvi and Anda. "I'm betting my entire existence… or what remains of it… on them."
"Huh?" Leyvi and Anda glanced at each other, confusion replacing the lingering tension.
"What do you mean by that, Alita?" Leyvi asked, frowning slightly. He couldn't quite grasp what she was trying to say.
"It means… I'm entrusting my entire fate to you," Alita replied.
Raisho let out a soft sound of interest. "Hoo… do you believe these younglings can help you regain your true lifespan? You do realize this is something no one in the galaxy has ever achieved. Not even our Exalted Progenitor is capable of it. So… what exactly do you see in them?"
Alita shook her head slowly. "I don't know. That's why it's a bet."
She paused briefly before continuing.
"If strength alone were enough to resolve my situation, I could have sought out the strongest or most talented cultivator on this planet long ago and guided them… waiting for the day they reached Divinity and helped me."
"But you didn't," Raisho said, watching her.
"No," Alita replied softly. "Because I knew that path wouldn't work."
Her gaze turned toward Leyvi. "So I chose to wait instead. Whether it's fate or something else, I can't be sure. But after hundreds of thousands of years… they arrived here, carrying a power I cannot comprehend."
She let out a quiet breath. "I have seen countless abilities throughout my life. Yet his power…" she shook her head again, "…I cannot trace it, cannot understand it. That was enough for me to decide."
"I will bet on them."
Raisho nodded slowly. "If I were in your position, I would have done the same. When all the knowledge and power you once possessed still led you to this end… it is only natural to place your hope in something completely unknown as a final gamble."
There was a brief silence. Then Alita spoke again, her eyes turning toward Raisho.
"Senior Raisho… are you unable to see through his power as well?"

She believed that the reason he was here was not for her, but for Leyvi. If he had come for her, he would have arrived much earlier, not now.
And if he came for Leyvi, then it could only be because he was interested in Leyvi's mysterious power. The same power that she could not see through.
The question now was whether a Divine being, with far greater insight and capabilities than hers, could see the origin of Leyvi's mysterious power.
As their conversation continued, Leyvi found himself growing more and more uneasy.
Oi, oi, oi… Alita, what are you saying?
Is she talking about my Talent Bead? Back then I showed her the Formation Dismantler benefit, and since she couldn't figure out where my power came from, she decided to rely on me?
I just want the airship, you know. I'm not getting involved in anything else. Can't you see I'm just a puny Core Formation Realm cultivator? Don't bet on me!
Leyvi could only complain inwardly, his expression stiffening bit by bit.
Raisho smiled faintly. "You're right. I couldn't see through him. Not just him, but his entire family possesses powers whose origins I cannot trace. It makes me wonder…"
Leyvi's heart skipped.
Fuck… am I getting exposed now?
His thoughts began racing.
Is he interested in my secret? If a godlike figure decides to act against me, there's no way I can resist. Not even a little.
Am I going to get dragged off and interrogated until I hand over the Talent Bead? But I don't even control it! Even if I wanted to give it up… I wouldn't know how!
The more he thought about it, the worse it felt.
Raisho then turned his gaze toward Leyvi, studying him with clear interest, one hand idly rubbing his chin.
"At first, I was only intrigued by your core. It resembles a certain type of star, but…"
"Senior Raisho," Anda suddenly spoke, cutting him off mid-sentence.
Her tone was calm, but her timing was precise.
"Will it cause any problems when my husband attempts to break through in the future? His core is completely different from others, so I'm worried."
She looked directly at Raisho.
This was the perfect opportunity to get an answer about Leyvi's mysterious core.
Raisho had been about to continue his earlier point, but when he noticed the faint desperation in Anda's eyes, he paused and answered instead.
"Hmm… young lady, I'm not sure what your husband went through to obtain this core. This is also the first time I've seen something like it," he said thoughtfully. "However, special cores are usually formed when certain conditions are met."
He glanced at Anda.
"For example, your core burns like a sun. While this is not uncommon among those with fire elemental spirit roots, it is still considered a special core. To form it, one must reach a certain threshold of mastery over fire. Otherwise, they would end up with a normal core like the vast majority."
He continued calmly.
"All special cores have their own conditions that must be fulfilled before they can form."
Leyvi and Anda were both stunned.
They had never known it worked this way. While special cores were more common among those with higher-quality spirit roots, most people believed they formed randomly and had long accepted it as such.
Who would have thought there were actual requirements behind them? As expected, there were still many things they didn't understand about cultivation.
Raisho smiled faintly and went on.
"The advantage is obvious. Those with special cores are naturally stronger than others. Not only that, during future breakthroughs, this advantage can stack… or even multiply."
He paused briefly before adding,
"However, it is not without its drawbacks. Breaking through to the next realm becomes more difficult. Like you, young lady, your mastery over fire must reach the next threshold as well. Otherwise, the probability of failure increases."
He gave her a brief look of approval.
"But from what I can see, you won't have any problems. Your mastery over fire has already exceeded expectations."
Anda nodded slightly, but her attention never left the main issue.
"What about my husband?" she asked, gently steering the focus back. "What does his core require?"
Raisho shook his head. "Like I said, this is the first time I've seen a core like his. He might very well be the first in this galaxy to achieve it. My advice? Reflect on your breakthrough. Figure out what conditions allowed this core to form, then continue improving along that path."
He glanced at Leyvi with a faint smile.
"A core like this wouldn't come into existence from a single factor. It must have required multiple harsh conditions to align perfectly. That also means your future breakthroughs will be unimaginably difficult. But…" his smile widened, "…if you succeed, I can guarantee you'll be invincible within the same realm. Hahaha! Great, isn't it?"
Leyvi returned a wry smile. Invincible sounded nice… but that also meant working himself to the bone. What happened to his dream of a leisurely life?
Raisho continued, clearly amused. "So, young man, I hope you succeed. As the first to walk this path, if you manage to open it up for others to follow, even our Supreme Ruler might reward you for your contribution to the galaxy."
The words landed like a stone in still water.
Leyvi, Anda, and even Alita's expression shifted. A reward… from the Supreme Ruler?
Their thoughts couldn't help but wander. From what Raisho had said earlier, the Exalted Progenitor had scattered opportunities for Divinity across the Galactic Center. If that was the case… could he still grant such an opportunity directly?
Raisho chuckled, clearly enjoying their reaction. "Hahaha! I'll leave the reward to your imagination. Knowing his personality… he might even let you marry one of his descendants."
Anda's eyes lit up instantly, sparkling like twin stars. "Husband! You must succeed no matter what! We must bring her into our family!"
Leyvi was speechless. Of course this was more important to her than the chance to achieve Divinity.
As expected of my wife.
