Chapter 710, Floor 94 (12)

Chapter 710, Floor 94 (12)

These out-of-control mechanical sentinels and bio-mechanical hybrids roamed the ruins, slaughtering indiscriminately without any rivals. They fought amongst themselves, vying for limited resources and living space, turning the ruins into a giant slaughterhouse. But their tyranny and ferocity vanished completely upon encountering the liquid metal humanoid. Those powerful enemies, deadly in the eyes of others, were as insignificant and vulnerable as ants in the face of this liquid metal humanoid. All their attacks failed to inflict any effective damage on the humanoid, instead provoking a devastating counterattack, ultimately reducing them to piles of wreckage, becoming stepping stones in its path.

The liquid metal humanoid continued its steady progress, moving from the outermost edge of its upper district deeper into the city. Its pace was even and slow, its simulated head occasionally turning left and right, observing its surroundings and searching for the unknown target it had been seeking, without the slightest distraction. Ahead, the street was littered with building debris: broken steel bars, shattered glass, collapsed walls, and several overturned hovercars, their bodies covered in damage and rust, long since lifeless. Just as it was about to reach the pile of rubble, several cold red lights suddenly shone from the gaps in the debris. Immediately afterward, a piercing mechanical roar shattered the silence of the ruins, and several figures rushed out from the gaps, blocking the liquid metal humanoid's path.

They were a group of basic mechanical sentinels, five in total. They were about 1.8 meters tall, their bodies made of gray alloy, with square metal boxes on their heads equipped with two red cameras that were locked onto the liquid metal humanoid. Their limbs were equipped with flexible mechanical joints, and they held sharp alloy longswords in their hands. The energy cannons on their bodies were fully charged, emitting a faint red light and a "buzzing" sound of electricity. Clearly, they regarded this suddenly appearing liquid metal humanoid as an intruding enemy and were preparing to attack.

Five basic mechanical sentinels, arranged in a fan shape, surrounded the liquid metal humanoid. Without hesitation, they launched their attacks simultaneously the moment they locked onto their target. Two of the sentinels wielded alloy longswords, slashing at the humanoid's torso with incredibly sharp blades that whistled through the air at breakneck speed. Any ordinary creature or machine struck by such a blow would be cleaved in two. The other two sentinels activated their energy cannons, unleashing two weak red laser beams that shot towards the humanoid's head. These laser beams were incredibly fast and had immense penetrating power, easily piercing through hard metal. The last sentinel darted behind the humanoid, preparing to launch a sneak attack, cut off its retreat, and create a pincer movement.

Faced with the simultaneous attack of five mechanical sentinels, the liquid metal humanoid showed no reaction whatsoever. It neither dodged nor retaliated, maintaining its original posture, its simulated head still turning left and right, as if the attack had nothing to do with it. Just as the two alloy longswords were about to strike its torso, its body suddenly changed. The previously hard liquid metal instantly softened, flowing like mercury to both sides. The two alloy longswords slashed straight through, missing everything, striking the ground with a loud clang, sparks flying, leaving two deep gashes and sending debris flying. The two laser beams aimed at its head also instantly pierced its body without encountering any resistance. The moment the laser beams passed through its body, the liquid metal on its surface rippled slightly. Some of the laser energy was absorbed by its body, becoming its own energy, while the rest was reflected back towards the two mechanical sentinels that fired the laser beams.

The two mechanical sentinels were clearly unprepared for this situation and had no time to react before being struck by their own laser beams. With two muffled booms, the laser beams instantly pierced through their alloy bodies, completely burning out their internal circuitry. The two mechanical sentinels stiffened abruptly, their red cameras went out instantly, and the alloy longswords in their hands fell to the ground with a clang. Then, their bodies slowly collapsed, landing on the ground with a heavy thud, completely lifeless, turning into a pile of scrap metal.

The mechanical sentry that had circled behind the liquid metal humanoid saw this and, without hesitation, swung its alloy longsword at the sentry's back, intending to cleave it in two. But just as the blade was about to strike, the liquid metal humanoid's body changed again. The liquid metal on its back instantly bulged, forming a thick metal barrier. At the same time, one of its arms rapidly extended backward, hardened, and transformed into a sharp metal blade, slashing towards the mechanical sentry's head. With a crisp "crack," the metal blade instantly severed the mechanical sentry's head. The square metal head fell to the ground with a "clang," the red camera instantly went out, and the internal wiring was exposed, emitting faint sparks. The headless mechanical sentry's body stiffened abruptly, the alloy longsword in its hand fell to the ground, and then slowly collapsed, completely lifeless.

The remaining two mechanical sentinels slashed at the liquid metal humanoid again, faster and more ferocious than before. The liquid metal humanoid remained unperturbed. With a slight movement, it dodged the two alloy longswords. Simultaneously, its two arms hardened, transforming into two sharp metal blades that slashed at the two mechanical sentinels' torsos. The speed was incredible; in an instant, they struck their targets. With two crisp "cracks," the two metal blades easily pierced the alloy bodies of the two mechanical sentinels, severing their internal wiring. The two mechanical sentinels stiffened abruptly, their red cameras instantly extinguishing, and the alloy longswords falling to the ground. Then, their bodies were easily torn apart by the metal blades, alloy fragments and internal wiring and parts scattering everywhere, crashing to the ground with a crackling sound, ultimately turning into a pile of scrap metal.

In just a few seconds, the five basic mechanical sentinels were completely destroyed by the liquid metal humanoid, leaving no survivors. Only a pile of broken alloy fragments, wires, and parts remained on the ground, along with a few drops of oil emitting a faint odor. The liquid metal humanoid, however, maintained its original humanoid shape. The liquid metal on its surface flowed slowly, returning to calm, as if the battle had never happened. It didn't even glance at the wreckage on the ground. Its simulated head continued to turn left and right, searching for targets. Then, it lifted its foot and continued to move steadily forward, stepping directly over the wreckage without encountering any hindrance. Its steps remained even, and its speed remained slow.

Passing through the pile of architectural rubble, the street ahead widened, flanked by several dilapidated skyscrapers. The sky bridges between the buildings had collapsed, and scattered steel structures littered the street, blocking most of it. More overturned hovercraft lay scattered across the street, some completely crushed, others torn apart, their internal parts strewn everywhere. Broken glass and steel bars covered the entire street, creaking softly as you walked on them. The stench of blood in the air grew stronger, mingled with the smells of rust and decay, pungent and unpleasant—clearly, a fierce battle had just taken place here.

Just as the liquid metal humanoid was about to step onto the wide street, a low, hoarse roar suddenly came from the ruins of buildings on both sides of the street. The roar was hoarse, violent, and full of wildness. Accompanied by heavy footsteps, several enormous figures slowly emerged from the ruins and blocked its path. They were three bio-mechanical hybrids. Their forms were extremely bizarre and ferocious, resembling giant lions, yet possessing obvious mechanical features. They were enormous, with a body length of over five meters and a height of about two and a half meters. Their bodies were covered with thick black scales and silver-gray alloy armor. The scales were incredibly hard, capable of withstanding ordinary physical and energy attacks, while the alloy armor covered the scales, further enhancing their defensive capabilities. Their heads resemble those of lions, but possess a pair of red mechanical eyes capable of precisely locking onto targets. Their mouths are filled with sharp, silvery-white fangs that gleam with a cold, icy light, easily tearing apart the bodies of their prey. A small energy emitter is mounted on their heads, capable of releasing energy blasts. Their limbs are thick and powerful, like those of lions, but covered in alloy armor. Their claws are sharp metal claws, tens of centimeters long, capable of easily tearing through hard alloys. The soles of their feet have anti-slip patterns, allowing them to walk steadily on smooth surfaces. Their tails are transformed into long mechanical whips, with a sharp metal spike at the end, capable of flexibly lashing out at enemies with astonishing power.

These three bio-mechanical hybrids were clearly the rulers of this area. They had just finished a fierce battle, and their scales and alloy armor were stained with dark red blood and oil, making them appear even more ferocious and terrifying. Upon seeing the unfamiliar liquid metal humanoid, their red mechanical eyes instantly lit up, emitting a cold red light. Their low growls, full of aggression, resounded again. They slowly moved, forming a triangular formation, completely surrounding the liquid metal humanoid, gurgling sounds emanating from their throats, as if warning or preparing to attack. Although their movements were slow, they carried an extreme sense of oppression. With each step, the ground trembled slightly, and the heavy footsteps sounded particularly jarring in the deathly silence of the ruins, sending chills down one's spine.

Without the slightest hesitation, the three bio-mechanical hybrids launched their attacks simultaneously the moment they locked onto their targets. The leftmost hybrid opened its massive jaws, letting out a ferocious roar. Its sharp fangs gleamed with a cold light as it lunged at the head of the liquid metal humanoid, moving with incredible speed and a whistling sound, aiming to tear its head apart in one bite. The middle hybrid swung its thick forelimbs, its sharp metal claws carrying immense force as it clawed at the torso of the liquid metal humanoid. The claws sizzled as they cut through the air; a hit from this claw would inevitably leave several deep wounds, or even tear the body apart. The rightmost hybrid activated the energy transmitter on its head, instantly launching a dark red energy blast towards the chest of the liquid metal humanoid. The energy blast was incredibly fast, radiating a powerful energy wave capable of easily destroying solid building debris—its power was astonishing.

Faced with the simultaneous attack of three bio-mechanical hybrids, the liquid metal humanoid remained completely unresponsive, neither dodging nor retaliating. It maintained its original posture, its simulated head still turning left and right, searching for its target. Just as the leftmost bio-mechanical hybrid was about to pounce, its sharp fangs about to bite its head, its body suddenly transformed. The humanoid outline vanished instantly, transforming into a mass of flowing, silvery-gray liquid metal, flowing downwards like mercury, easily avoiding the hybrid's attack. The hybrid missed its target, its massive body slamming into the ground with a deafening roar. The ground trembled violently, sending debris flying. Its head slammed heavily into the ground, the hard scales and alloy armor screeching against the earth, leaving a deep scratch.

At the same time, the claws of the biomechanical hybrid in the middle slammed into empty air, striking the ground with a sharp crack. Five deep claw marks were left in the ground, sending debris flying. Even some of the sturdy steel bars were snapped in two. Meanwhile, the energy blast fired by the biomechanical hybrid on the far right passed straight through the liquid metal humanoid that had materialized into liquid, missing everything and striking a dilapidated building in front of it. With a muffled boom, a huge hole was blasted in the building's wall, sending debris and concrete flying everywhere. The wall shook violently, and more fragments fell from the wall, landing on the ground with a heavy thud.
