Chapter 724: The End and New Beginning of the Space-Time Rift
After successfully sealing the evil force that attempted to tear apart the world order, Bennett and Mika set off on their journey home, exhausted but triumphant. They passed through the chaotic space-time land that was filled with mysterious light and was now gradually returning to peace. Every step was like stepping on a soft carpet that had been restored by the years, and the light under their feet spread gently like ripples.
"Mika, this time you really had a narrow escape." Bennett panted, breaking the silence along the way. There was still dust from the battle on his face, and his hair was messy and sticking up, like a hedgehog that had just emerged from a bush.
Mika nodded slightly, but his eyes were still vigilantly scanning the surroundings. In his hand, he tightly grasped the long sword that had accompanied them through countless battles. The sword was faintly flickering with a spiritual light that had not yet dissipated. "Yes, but fortunately, everything is over, and the world can finally return to peace." His voice was steady and resolute, but it could not hide a trace of fatigue.
However, just when they thought they were about to leave this dangerous place and return to their familiar home, a strange wave suddenly came from under their feet. The ground seemed to have turned into surging waves, undulating violently, and dazzling rays of light gushed out from the ground, instantly enveloping them.
"Oh no! What's going on?" Bennett screamed. He tried to steady himself, but was pulled by a powerful force and flew upwards involuntarily. Mika reacted quickly and grabbed Bennett's arm, trying to pull him back to his side with his own strength, but the mysterious force was too strong. They were like two leaves swaying in the wind, being mercilessly sucked into a huge vortex.
As the light gradually faded, Bennett and Mika found themselves in a completely unfamiliar world. The sky here was a strange purple, and the clouds seemed to be graffitied, distorted, and floating. The land was barren, with strange rocks and bubbling black swamps everywhere, emitting a pungent stench.
"Where have we been teleported to?" Bennett asked, frowning and covering his nose. His eyes were full of fear and confusion, and he kept looking around, as if he was in a nightmare.
Mika took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. "I don't know, but it looks like we're in a new predicament. But it doesn't matter, Bennett. We've been through so many ups and downs together, and we'll definitely find our way home again." He held Bennett's shoulders tightly, his eyes revealing a firm belief.
Just as they were about to explore this strange world, a group of strange-looking creatures surrounded them from all directions. These creatures were short, but had huge heads and slender limbs, their eyes flashed green light like light bulbs, and they made sharp cries that made people shudder.
"Be careful, Bennett!" Mika shouted, quickly protecting Bennett behind him, holding his sword horizontally, and taking a defensive posture. Seeing this, the monsters rushed forward with their fangs and claws bared. For a moment, the flashes of swords and the screams of monsters broke the silence of this desolate world.
Although Bennett was scared, he knew he couldn't retreat at this moment. He took out a small dagger from his waist, and while Mika was attracting the monster's attention, he seized the opportunity and stabbed a monster that was approaching. The dagger accurately pierced the monster's body, and the monster screamed, fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and then stopped moving.
"Haha, it seems these guys are not invincible!" Bennett shouted excitedly. This attack gave him a great boost of confidence. He and Mika stood back to back, cooperating tacitly to continue fighting the monsters around them. Mika's sword was like a dragon out of the sea, and every swing could cut down a group of monsters; Bennett was like a nimble little fox, jumping and shuttling among the monsters, and occasionally giving them a blow. The two of them looked particularly heroic in this chaotic battlefield.
As time went on, the monsters seemed to realize that the two humans in front of them were not easy to deal with, and the pace of their attacks gradually slowed down. Bennett and Mika took the opportunity to catch their breath and began to observe the surrounding environment, looking for an opportunity to break out.
At this moment, Bennett suddenly found a towering black castle not far away. The walls of the castle were engraved with strange symbols and patterns, faintly emitting a mysterious and oppressive atmosphere. "Mika, look at that castle! Maybe there are clues for us to leave here." Bennett said, pointing at the castle.
Mika nodded, a look of determination flashing in his eyes. "Let's go and take a look. But be careful, this castle doesn't look simple." So, they walked towards the castle carefully, followed by a group of unwilling monsters, as if a life-and-death adventure was about to begin in front of this mysterious castle.
When they arrived at the foot of the castle, a huge iron door was closed, covered with rusty nails and complicated patterns. Bennett tried to push the door, but found that it did not move at all. "Why is this door so strong? How can we get in?" He said a little frustrated.
Mika walked around the castle and carefully observed the symbols on the wall. "These symbols seem to be some kind of ancient magic circle. Maybe we can open the door by deciphering it." He said, and began to reach out and touch the symbols, trying to find some pattern from them.
Bennett watched nervously, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead. "Can you do it? This magic circle looks so complicated."
Mika didn't say anything, just concentrating on studying the symbols. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, as if he had discovered something crucial. He quickly pressed his hands on the magic circle several times, muttering something. In an instant, a beam of light shot out from the magic circle and rushed straight to the iron door. The iron door made a dull sound and slowly opened.
"Success!" Bennett cheered and rushed into the castle impatiently. Mika followed closely behind him, holding the sword tightly in his hand, not daring to slack off. There was a pungent smell in the castle, and the dim lights cast swaying shadows on the walls, as if countless pairs of eyes were hidden and peeping at them.
They walked along the long corridor. On the walls on both sides were hung strange portraits. The characters in the paintings had empty eyes, as if they were telling endless sorrow. Suddenly, a sinister laugh sounded in their ears. "Welcome, brave adventurers, to my castle." A deep voice said.
Bennett and Mika stopped immediately and looked around vigilantly. "Who are you? Why did you lead us here?" Mika asked loudly.
As smoke spread, a figure in a black robe appeared in front of them. The man in the black robe wore a mask on his face, so his features could not be seen clearly, only a pair of eyes flashing red light were exposed. "I am the master of this world. Do you think you can leave here easily? You must pass my test, otherwise you will stay here forever."
Bennett took a step forward without fear. "Humph, do you think we are afraid of you? Come on!" A thrilling test is about to unfold in this mysterious castle. Can Bennett and Mika defeat the mysterious black-robed man in front of them with their courage and wisdom and find the way home? Everything is still unknown.
